Job Description

Hitachi Energy's HSE function plays a key role in integrating health, safety, and environmental performance into business processes, supporting data driven decision making, risk reduction, and long-term sustainability.

In this role, you will support the European HUB of Grid & Power Quality Solutions (GPQS) by ensuring high quality HSE and environmental data reporting across project and site operations. You will be responsible for monitoring data completeness, accuracy, and timeliness across multiple digital platforms, including Intelex and EcoSpace. Your work will enable reliable environmental performance reporting, carbon footprint and greenhouse gas (GHG) calculations, and continuous improvement of sustainability related processes. Working closely with HUB HSE leadership and regional stakeholders, you will help embed a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement.

How You Will Make an Impact

  • Ensure high-quality HSE and environmental data by collecting, validating, and analyzing inputs to meet internal and governance requirements.
  • Enable reliable sustainability reporting by validating environmental data used for performance tracking, carbon footprint, and GHG calculations.
  • Safeguard reporting accuracy by monitoring data quality, consistency, and timeliness across digital platforms, with strong ownership of EcoSpace usage.
  • Provide visibility into environmental performance by reviewing data related to materials, travel, machinery, logistics, and site operations.
  • Strengthen sustainability insights by identifying data gaps, inconsistencies, and reporting risks at project and site level.
  • Drive digital efficiency by supporting Intelex and HUB monitoring tools, dashboards, and reporting frameworks.
  • Support continuous improvement by understanding data flows and enabling automation and more efficient environmental reporting processes.
  • Communicate progress and risks clearly through KPI monitoring and structured, data-driven performance reports for internal stakeholders.

Your background

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science, Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Engineering, Data Science, or related fields.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify patterns, and translate findings into actionable insights.
  • High proficiency with Excel and familiarity with digital reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, SharePoint, Intelex).
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to prepare clear reports and engage stakeholders across multiple countries.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and a structured approach to data management and problem-solving.
  • Experience (academic, internship, or professional) in HSE, sustainability, data analytics, or digital process management is beneficial.
  • Proactive, independent, and comfortable working in a multicultural environment with cross-functional teams.
