Vaisala is a global leader in measurement instruments and intelligence helping industries, nations, people, and the planet to thrive. From predicting hurricanes to optimizing renewable energy production, our technology is used where it matters the most - from data centers, windfarms and laboratories to airports, the Arctic and even the surface of Mars. For a second year running, Vaisala got recognized in TIME Magazine's World's Best Companies in Sustainable Growth 2026 study. Our team of close to 2,500 experts and 62 nationalities around the world is committed to taking every measure for the planet. You are offered

  • A great opportunity to work with products and systems that help save lives and mitigate climate change, e.g., in weather forecasting around the world
  • Permanent employment through Academic Work, offering a great opportunity to grow as a professional, extend your network, and establish valuable contacts for the future
  • Lunch benefit and extensive occupational health care
  • Opportunity to be recruited to the client if you thrive and succeed in the role

Work tasks

As an Applied AI Engineer, you will be responsible for architecting and implementing AI-driven solutions, focusing on agentic frameworks and systems thinking to automate complex processes and ensure high-quality AI outputs.

  • Design and implement autonomous workflows using agentic frameworks (e.g., LangGraph, CrewAI, AutoGen, LangChain).
  • Read, debug, and validate outputs from AI agents to ensure high-quality code.
  • Deconstruct vague business problems into logical, AI-executable steps.
  • Develop precise and technical prompt specifications for AI models.
  • Build evaluation tools to ensure the quality and reliability of AI-generated solutions.

We are looking for

  • Experience with Agentic Frameworks (e.g., LangGraph, CrewAI, AutoGen, LangChain, or frontier model SDKs like Anthropic, OpenAI).
  • Strong understanding of quality software engineering principles for reading, debugging, and validating agent outputs.
  • Advanced Systems Thinking: ability to break down complex problems into logical, AI-executable steps.

It is meritorious if you have

  • A Product Manager mindset, focusing on the 'what' to build rather than just the 'how'.
  • Advanced Prompt Engineering skills for writing clear and technical specifications.
  • Uncompromising approach to quality, including building evaluation tools for LLM outputs.

Our recruitment process

This recruitment process is handled by Academic Work and it is our client's wish that all questions regarding the position is directed to Academic Work.
