Job Description
The Vice President of Asset Management and IPP is responsible for the strategic, financial, and operational performance of Strata Solar's operating portfolio of renewable energy assets. This role serves as a senior leader of Strata's Independent Power Producer (IPP) platform, with full accountability for portfolio-level P&L, asset performance, and long-term value creation.
The VP will lead a cross-functional organization to optimize revenue, manage risk, ensure contractual compliance, and support capital markets activities, including financings, recapitalizations, and investor reporting. This individual will play a key role in shaping portfolio strategy, identifying new revenue opportunities, and scaling Strata's IPP business.
A critical component of this role is driving the development and implementation of advanced data systems and analytics platforms, enabling real-time asset monitoring, performance optimization, and data-driven decision-making across the portfolio.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Portfolio Leadership & Financial Performance
- Own portfolio-level P&L, including revenue optimization, cost control, cash flow forecasting, and distributions to investors.
- Lead long-term portfolio strategy, including hold/sell/refinance decisions, repowering opportunities, and lifecycle value optimization.
- Oversee revenue optimization strategies, including PPA management, merchant exposure, curtailment mitigation, and market participation.
- Develop forward-looking departmental and portfolio budgets and manage budget vs. actual performance on a monthly basis.
- Ensure asset performance meets or exceeds underwriting expectations and investor return targets.
IPP Strategy & Growth
- Identify and execute on new revenue streams and IPP growth opportunities, including storage integration, hybridization, merchant strategies, ancillary services, and emerging technologies.
- Evaluate and support acquisitions, divestitures, and strategic transactions related to operating assets.
- Maintain a strong understanding of energy markets, regulatory environments, and competitive landscape to inform strategic decisions.
Capital Markets & Investor Management
- Play a leadership role in tax equity, debt, and other financing processes in partnership with the Capital Markets team.
- Serve as a senior interface with investors, lenders, and capital partners, supporting capital raises, refinancing, and ongoing portfolio management.
- Oversee investor reporting, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and timeliness of financial and operational updates.
Operational Performance & Cross-Functional Leadership
- Partner with Operations & Maintenance leadership to drive performance optimization, reliability strategy, and cost efficiency across the fleet.
- Collaborate with Accounting, FP&A, and Internal Audit to ensure accurate financial reporting, forecasting, and audit readiness.
- Provide strategic feedback to Development, Engineering, Procurement, and Construction teams to improve future asset performance and design.
- Oversee compliance with all project- and fund-level contractual obligations, including PPAs, financing agreements, and regulatory requirements.
- Manage relationships with key vendors, OEMs, utilities, landowners, and regulatory agencies.
Data, Systems & Analytics Leadership
- Lead the development and implementation of real-time asset performance monitoring systems and data infrastructure across the portfolio.
- Drive continuous improvement of asset management systems, dashboards, and analytics tools to enhance visibility into operational and financial performance.
- Establish standardized data governance, reporting frameworks, and KPIs across all operating assets.
- Partner with internal technology teams and external providers to deploy scalable platforms for performance analytics, predictive maintenance, and portfolio optimization.
- Leverage data insights to inform decision-making, improve asset performance, and reduce operating costs.
Organizational Leadership
- Build, lead, and scale a high-performing asset management organization aligned with portfolio growth and complexity.
- Establish clear roles, responsibilities, and performance expectations across the team.
- Work with Human Resources to recruit, develop, and retain top talent.
- Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and data-driven decision-making.
Industry Engagement
- Represent Strata at industry conferences and events to stay current on market trends, technologies, and best practices.

- 5+ years of experience leading teams and managing operating asset portfolios
- Experience with project finance structures, including tax equity and debt financings
- Staff management experience preferred
