Job Description

The HSE Technician supports and progressively takes ownership of the company's local HSE management system in alignment with global standards.

This role is designed for a qualified PRL professional with field and office experience, who will initially support ongoing HSE activities and, over time, independently manage HSE processes, documentation, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the local HSE / PRL responsible person, ensuring day-to-day compliance with Spanish legislation and company HSE standards.
  • Maintain and update the HSE Management System, including procedures, risk assessments, preventive activity plans (PAP), and legal compliance records.
  • Identify, assess, and control occupational risks related to office and field activities.
  • Coordinate corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) arising from incidents, non-conformities, and audits.
  • Carry out the initial investigation of accidents and incidents and report them through corporate digital systems.
  • Preparation of PEP (Specific Prevention Plan) and PSS (Health and Safety Plan) documents required for site activities and projects
  • Coordinate with external prevention services (SPA), occupational health providers (Mutua), and other external stakeholders.
  • Plan, monitor, and manage HSE training activities and related records.
  • Prepare documentation for internal and external audits and follow up on action closure.
  • Monitor compliance with safety procedures and PPE use through site visits and inspections.
  • Coordinate emergency preparedness, environmental aspects, and waste management activities.
  • Track and report HSE KPIs and support management decision-making.
  • Promote a proactive safety culture across the organization.
  • Carry out any additional HSE-related tasks assigned by the Regional HSE Manager, contributing to continuous improvement and organizational maturity in HSE management.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in occupational health & safety, Environmental Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • To hold the certification of Occupational Health & Safety Technician (Técnico Superior en Prevención de Riesgos Laborales PRL)
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in HSE (preferably in renewable energy or construction).
  • Certifications in ISO 45001, ISO 14001.
  • Solid knowledge of Spanish HSE legislation.
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken).
  • Having a driver license
  • Availability for site visits.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience leading HSE processes autonomously at site or business-unit level.
  • Soft skills and behavioral traits (e.g., leadership, teamwork, communication).
  • Experience in solar energy projects or tracker systems.
  • Analytical mindset and proactive and solution-oriented approach to HSE management
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Proficiency in digital HSE reporting tools.
  • Additional skills or experience that are a plus

Working Conditions

  • Primarily office-based role (approx. 85%).
  • Occasional field visits (approx. 15%).
