The Sales Manager, Continuous Monitoring Systems (Life Sciences), will be responsible for driving sales growth and expanding market share in Brazil. This role involves new business development, managing relationships with existing key accounts, developing distributor's sales and technical capabilities, developing strategic sales plans, and ensuring customer satisfaction with Vaisala's solutions. The ideal candidate will have experience within the Life Sciences sector, mainly with pharmaceutical industry, and understanding of environmental monitoring, data logging, and instrumentation technologies. This role is based in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
What's your role?
- Business Development: Proactively identify, target and acquire new customers within the Life Sciences industry, while reporting the progress in our CRM tool.
- Sales Strategy Development: Enhance and execute the sales strategy to achieve sales targets and expand Vaisala's presence in the Life Sciences market within the region.
- Market Analysis: Conduct market research to identify new business opportunities and stay informed about industry trends and competitor activities.
- Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers in the Life Sciences sector. Act as a trusted advisor to clients, providing insights and solutions that meet their needs.
- Sales Excellence: Oversee the entire sales process from lead qualification to closing deals, ensuring a seamless customer experience. Utilize Salesforce to track sales activities and customer interactions.
- Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams (locally and internationally), including internal sales, product management, marketing, field service and customer service, to align sales efforts with company objectives and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Product Expertise: Maintain in-depth knowledge of Vaisala's Continuous Monitoring solution and services, effectively communicating their value to customers.
What will you bring?
- Bachelor's degree in electrical, electronic or automation engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of sales experience in the life sciences industry, or selling monitoring systems
- Proven track record of developing new business, achieving sales targets and growing market share.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills. Value selling is key to succeed in this role.
- Ability to travel up to 50% of the time within the region.
- Experience and discipline using CRM tools such as Salesforce.
- Fluent Portuguese and English (both written and spoken) are mandatory for this role. Spanish skills are considered a big plus.
The following will be considered key differentiators:
- Previous participation and networking with key associations like ISPE and PDA in the region.
- Understanding of Computerized System Validation and other regulatory concepts.
- Solid technical background in instrumentation, automation and systems sales.
- Ability to communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams (IT, Quality Control, Engineering, Maintenance).
