Job Description
This role is based within the RWE Renewables UK Categories Procurement team who have responsibility for expenditure with external suppliers including works and services covering consenting, engineering and vessel provision associated with the Global Development requirements for our Offshore Wind Farms.
About the role
- Supporting the implementation of Project Procurement strategies for a wide range of commodities and services in support of investment and operational activities
- Liaising with other Procurement colleagues to represent the key considerations for new Project opportunities
- Supporting the Project Procurement Managers and the Heads of Project Procurement in processing daily requests from the various functional teams to place contracts with external providers of goods and services
- Building good working relationships within the team
- Assist the Project Procurement team with SAP data entry and SAP data extract analysis (eg. Supplier spend data)
- Supporting the issue, receipt and evaluation of tenders
Principal Accountabilities
- Support end-to-end formal tender enquiries to the market
- Support high-value, strategic 'one-off' purchases via formal tender enquiries
- Support long-term supply strategies in alignment with developing business principals
- Apply the highest levels of Procurement Governance to frequent one-off transactional requirements to support an ageing fleet of Wind Assets
- Attend and support supplier negotiations
- Exploit opportunities from an evolving marketplace, reduce costs, optimise budgets
- Supply security and minimise expenditure on third-party
- Improved supply chain
- Ensure compliance with Central Procurement and Audit procedures
- Through structured market research and planning, deliver contractual arrangements with third party suppliers which represent optimal value
Job requirements and experience
- Good Communication (written and verbal) and organisational skills
- Good Computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite
Advantageous, but not essential
- No prior experience within the Procurement field, however you must have an interest in Procurement and the renewable industry
Location
The selected candidate shall be based at our Swindon office. During the placement, the selected candidate will receive exposure to many aspects of Project Procurement, and as such a degree of travel and time away from the Swindon location will be required.
This is a 12-month internship, to start within the next 0 - 3 months, with a salary of ??25,000.
