Job Description
The Sustainability team at RWE Offshore Wind leads sustainability strategy and initiatives across the business, helping position RWE as a leader in sustainable offshore energy. We invite motivated students interested in sustainability who want to deepen their experience in a collaborative, purpose-led environment. The team works on sustainability strategy, reporting, project support, data analysis, and cross-functional initiatives. This role offers a supportive learning environment and valuable opportunities for professional growth.
About the Role
- Support the team with project management tasks across carbon, circularity, and biodiversity topics, including presentation preparation, documentation management, and database maintenance
- Conduct research and analysis on selected sustainability topics such as artificial reefs, habitat restoration, circular materials, blade recycling, and decommissioning best practices
- Monitor and analyse relevant industry, policy, and market developments in sustainability and offshore wind
- Develop data models and create clear visualisations (e.g. in Power BI or Excel) for sustainability-related data such as carbon emissions, waste streams, and ESG metrics
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to support the planning and delivery of sustainability initiatives and projects
- Support communication activities, including the development of presentations, sustainability success stories, and webpage content
- Co-organise team meetings, workshops, and events, while participating in team collaboration
- Provide flexible support to the sustainability team on ad-hoc tasks and ongoing initiatives
Job requirements and experience
- Currently enrolled in a degree programme such as sustainability, environmental engineering, natural or social sciences, business administration, or a related field
- Motivation to engage with sustainability topics and contribute to impactful work
- Methodical and structured way of working, with good organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a solution-oriented manner
- Interest in data analysis and visualisation tools such as Power BI and Excel
- Works well with others, takes initiative, and applies a practical mindset
- Skilled user of MS Office and quick to learn new digital tools and systems
- Fluent in English (written and spoken)
- Available to work on-site at the Essen campus 1-2 times per week
