We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Operational Technology Integration Engineer. The ideal candidate will possess an understanding of energy storage technologies, combined with expertise in software engineering, automation, and control systems to innovate and improve our solutions.

We are looking for operational reasons to place this role in the UK or Finland only.
Key Responsibilities
- As part of the Operational Technology team, you will develop, configure and deploy software & control technologies on our GEMS SW platform according to our solution standards and project requirements that solves electrical power and energy problems. You will often need to innovate to meet new challenges.
- When it comes to coding, you will most often code in Java but will also involve JavaScript and Python languages from time to time.
- You will need to read decent amount of electrical engineering documents to understand the design and will develop technical documents of your own according to our standards.
- You will work closely with other electrical, mechanical and software engineers when delivering solutions to projects.
- You may need to travel to the site to help commissioning your work at large solar, wind, energy storage or hybrid power plants. Our realistic expectations are for approximately up to 20% travel.
What will I need to be successful
- Experience or knowledge of SCADA standards and products
- Basic knowledge of programming - Java, JavaScript, python.
- Knowledge of Networking - VLAN, NAT, and basic principle of switches and routers configuration.
- Knowledge of industrial communication protocol (Modbus, OPC DA/OPC UA).
- Be passionate about renewable energy, we are a global business and flexibility at times is required.
- Knowledge on Grid Code Compliance (IEEE 1547) related testing.
- Attention to details and good time management skill.
- Ability to multi-task and engage multiple projects simultaneously
Education
- Degree in Electrical Engineering with experience in substations, power plants and power transmission systems.
Optional and preferred (we can teach you if you are a fast learner)
- Knowledge of TCP/IP network communication devices and protocols
- Java experience
- Experience with industry protocols such as DNP3, IEC-61850, IEC-61870-104-5
- Grasp of cybersecurity principles and practices in software products
- Familiar with Linux OS
- Working experience with Modern software development management tools including JIRA, GIT and Confluence.
- Familiar with remote accesses, SSH and tunnelling.
