Job Description
As an allround QHSE Engineer you'll be collaborating with employees of all nationalities and disciplines. DEME's objective is to provide a healthy work environment, to promote sound work practices and a healthy lifestyle for everyone involved in our business. QHSE is therefore one of our most vital departments and involved in all Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental matters on our projects, vessels, and in HQ. Together we work towards DEME's vision of creating a sustainable future.
Your responsibilities
- As a QHSE engineer you will have a variety of tasks such as assisting the project and tender departments to make our projects as safe as possible.
- You'll be responsible for updating and maintaining our management systems, setting up QHSE campaigns, taking part in incident investigations, risk assessments and audits.
- You support in different topics: support, training, systems, behavioral change, cultural projects, different standards, and other departments.
- You will be responsible for safety support on HQ regarding warehouse, logistics, cargo securing, heavy lifting,...)
- Evaluation of our risk management training
- Depending on your interests, knowledge and approach you get assigned certain processes assigned to you.
Your profile
- You hold a bachelor or master's degree in engineering and/or QHSE related studies such as safety science.
- Experience in the field of QHSE and/or safety management systems is a plus but not required.
- You have an analytical mind and are able to work accurately.
- You are service minded and a good communicator.
- You are fluent, both written and verbal, in English. Dutch is a big plus.
- You are prepared to work in our HQ in Belgium and are prepared to travel for short assignments.
- You get energy from working with processes and organizing systems.
- You're looking for an all round position where you can focus on the support of lots of QHSE related matters in all of DEME.
