BURN is looking for a Procurement Agent who will be responsible for organising and managing the local procurement process for supporting the local manufacturing of IDC. This role ensures the timely acquisition of quality goods and services while maintaining cost efficiency, supplier relationships, and compliance with organisational policies.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Place and manage Purchase Requisitions and Purchase orders for relevant services, ensuring timely delivery through consistent follow-up and coordination.
  • Prepare and issue Requests for Quotations (RFQs); analyze bids, conduct bid evaluations, and present recommendations for approval.
  • Negotiate with suppliers to secure competitive pricing, favorable terms, and value for money.
  • Conduct market research and due diligence to identify and evaluate potential vendors.
  • Provide regular updates to internal stakeholders regarding the status of procurement requests.
  • Monitor inventory levels and proactively place replenishment orders to avoid stockouts.
  • Convert end-user requests into Procurement Requests and Purchase Orders; ensure timely approvals and follow-ups.
  • Collaborate with warehouse staff to plan for inbound deliveries and ensure optimal storage arrangements.
  • Foster strong communication and maintain professional relationships with suppliers.
  • Work closely with engineering and warehouse teams to order & receive the production materials as per technical specifications.
  • Maintain accurate and organized procurement documentation and filing systems.
  • Update weekly cash forecasts to inform supplier payment schedules in line with negotiated terms.
  • Conduct vendor appraisals and analyze supplier performance for continuous improvement.
  • Maintain and update the Preferred Supplier List, cash sheet, and inventory planner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the local production activities.

Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree, Essential: Diploma or equivalent education.
  • Studies or a course in Procurement or Supply Chain Management.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a similar procurement role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Fundamental understanding of procurement best practices, vendor management, ERP systems, and contract negotiation.
  • Proficiency in Procurement systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Should have a good understanding of spreadsheets.
  • High level of integrity and attention to detail.
