Job Description
Hitachi Energy is the world leader in Power Quality Solution - PQS (former- FACTS) (Flexible AC Transmission System) technology and offers a full PQS portfolio with in-house manufacturing of key components. Hitachi Energy was the first to introduce PQS to the power industry and has delivered PQS equipment for more than 50 years. Today Hitachi Energy is the recognized world leader with more than 50 percent of the global market share and more than 700+ installed bases. Hitachi Energy PQS uses a state of art Modelling Tool and other in-house Engineering Tools in PQS Electromechanical design. The PQS Electromechanical Design (EM) Team is responsible for the design of the PQS Plant and the preparation of PQS Installation Drawings & Documents by developing a 3D Model in Revit.
How you'll make an impact
- Preparation of PQS Plant Layout (Yard Arrangement - Layout & Plan, Electrical HV / EHV Clearance Check), Civil Task (Civil input) Drawings (Foundation, Conduit, Trench, and other civil Requirements) and Civil Conceptual Design.
- Preparation of PQS Control Building Layout (Electrical Cubicles, Thyristors, Pump skid Arrangement), Cable Trench & Conduit Layout and Grounding & Lightning Protection Calculations and Layouts.
- Preparation of Section Drawings / Erection Key Diagrams (Detailed Installation & Erection Drgs of PQS Plant), Detailed Steel Drawings (For Manufacturing / Procurement & Installation) and Installation Drawings (Grounding Connections & Electrical Connections).
- Preparation of Busbar system data, Ampacity, cantilever & Magnetic Field Calculations, Civil Foundation Load Calculations (Load input to Civil Design) and Steel Design Calculations (Member Size, Foundation Bolt).
- Heat & Ventilation System Data Preparation (Input to HVAC design), purchasing Steel, Al, Connectors etc.,
- Review of Equipment Drgs (Reactor, Capacitor, SA, LA, CT, PT, CB, Isolator, WB / Insulator, Cubicle, Cooling Skid etc.,) and review of Tender / Bidding Specification. SVC / SC Plant Modelling in 3D Environment by Revit.
- Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, 5 - 8 Years (Min 4 years in Air insulated Substation (AIS) or Power Quality Solution - PQS (former- FACTS) (Flexible AC Transmission System) or HVDC Design Experience).
- Strong Experience in Sub-Station Design / PQS (former- FACTS) or HVDC Plant Design. (Mainly Primary Design - Layout Engineering & Co-ordination with other Design concerns). Experience in Preparing / Review / Approval of Layout Engineering deliverables (Primary Design Deliverables of Layout (Plan & Section), Elec.
- Experience in clearance Diagrams, Mag. Field Clearances, Erection Key Diagrams, Cable Trench & Conduit layout, Grounding & Lightning Protection, Civil Task (civil input) drawings, Typical Installation Documents).
- Have experience in preparation / Review / Approval of Design Calculations (Busbar (Flexible & Tube) Sizing, Short circuit force, Cantilever Strength, Insulation Co-Ordination / BIL, Sag-Tension, Spacer / Critical Span, Grounding, Lightning Protection, Static & Dynamic Load input to Civil Design).
- Experience in preparation / Review / Approval of Technical Specification, Technical Data Sheets, Vendor Drawings / Data sheets and in vendor Evaluation (Technical) for Switchyard Components and Procurement Engineering.
- Have experience in Revit OR Other 3D Modelling using Plant Design Tools (Solidworks/Smart Plant / PDS / PDMS - AutoCAD, Micro Station) or Assembly Design Tools (NX, ADI). Strong Knowledge / Expertise in concept of Sketch, Model, drawings.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality digital solutions.
- Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required.
