Job Description
At Vestas, sustainability is integrated across our entire value chain, going beyond turbine manufacturing, installation, and service. We focus on improving environmental performance while creating value for customers, communities, and the global energy transition. Sustainability is central to our corporate strategy.
You will join Group Sustainability, the global function driving Vestas' sustainability strategy, reporting, compliance, communication, and key projects. The team collaborates across multiple functions, including Sales, Service, Procurement, Finance, and Power Solutions.
This role is closely connected to customer and tender activities in Northern & Central Europe (NCE), while aligning with global strategy and developments. Sustainability is a key commercial differentiator in the region, supporting tenders, sales dialogues, and translating solutions into customer value.
Our key focus areas include decarbonisation, circularity, and biodiversity. Working with global and regional stakeholders, you will ensure consistent, credible, and commercially relevant sustainability messaging aligned with Vestas' ambitions.
Responsibilities
Reporting to Group Sustainability, you have the opportunity to shape Vestas' future competitiveness and value offerings by translating sustainability into customer value, stronger tender responses, and sharper market positioning across Northern & Central Europe. In addition, your responsibilities will cover:
- Drive the integration of sustainability into NCE tenders and sales dialogues, ensuring all customer-facing materials, data, and messaging reflect Vestas' sustainability leadership
- Advise customers and key account, sales, and bid teams on sustainability differentiators, including low-emission materials, decarbonised operations, circularity, biodiversity, and site-specific reporting capabilities
- Stay informed on relevant sustainability policy and tender developments in NCE, translating implications into customer-facing guidance and commercial positioning
- Support account-specific sustainability value propositions for high-priority customers, including tailored messaging and materials for strategic customer engagements
- Maintain close coordination with Group Sustainability and relevant regional functions to ensure customer commitments, tender responses, and external positioning are consistent, credible, and commercially useful
Qualifications
Extending on our key focus areas to which we hope you have a good understanding, you should also be able to recognize yourself within the following criteria:
- 3-5 years of experience from roles within environmental sustainability, commercial sustainability, sustainability consulting, business development, energy, renewable energy or related roles within a complex, international organization
- Master's in natural sciences, environmental engineering, environmental economics, sustainable business, or a related sustainability field
- Strong commercial profile, with experience translating sustainability topics into business value, customer messaging, and practical decision support
- Experience working with EU and UK sustainability policy and regulatory frameworks relevant to NCE markets, such as ETS/CBAM, EU Critical and Strategic Raw Materials Act, NZIA, and emerging non-price criteria in renewable energy auctions
- Experience supporting complex stakeholder processes, preferably involving sales, tenders, account teams, customers, or cross-functional project teams
- Fluent in verbal and written English
