Key Responsibilities
- Construction & Installation Support
- Assist in the erection and installation of Goldwind wind turbines (GW NESA models).
- Support electrical and mechanical installation of EBOP systems (transformers, switchgear, cabling, substations).
- Conduct inspections of foundations, tower sections, and turbine components prior to installation.
- Technical Assistance
- Provide on-site technical support to contractors and engineers.
- Monitor installation progress and report deviations from project plans.
- Perform quality checks on mechanical and electrical connections.
- Safety & Compliance
- Enforce Goldwind's EHS protocols and site-specific safety procedures.
- Ensure compliance with South African construction regulations and IEC standards.
- Participate in toolbox talks and risk assessments.
- Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of installation activities, inspections, and test results.
- Prepare daily site reports and communicate issues to the Site Manager.
- Support commissioning documentation for handover to O&M teams.
Qualifications
- Diploma/Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Renewable Energy Engineering (or equivalent technical certification).
- Experience in wind farm construction or large-scale renewable energy projects.
- Knowledge of turbine installation processes and EBOP systems.
- Familiarity with SCADA systems and high-voltage electrical equipment (advantageous).
- Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in varying weather conditions.
