Job Description
The APAC OT Network team serves as an escalation point for technical issues that are complex in nature which are escalated from the customer / program / operation team. The position provides in-depth technical support by working across departments within L+G and Customer teams. The Network team is responsible for driving a resolution to technical / functional issues. If technical issues cannot be resolved. The position requires strong technical, customer management skills and knowledge of business processes & functions to implement new projects and resolve customer's issues.
Position Summary
The Expert Technical Delivery role is a senior individual contributor responsible for End-to-End Delivery and Acceptance for assigned customers. This person will combine Domain Knowledge, Product knowledge, Solutioning, Problem solving/Analysis, Validation strategy & Automation to drive high-quality deliveries.
Candidate would be responsible to support the Program Team in deployment and support of Landis + Gyr's AMI solution (s). As a Technical Delivery Expert, candidate must understand Customer requirements and how Landis+Gyr Solution fits into these requirements. The ideal candidate will be business-focused, possess strong technical aptitude and excellent client facing communication skills. Successful candidates will be able to bridge the gap between business and technology, manage client resources, drive technical solutions to timely completion, and identify, analyse, and extract key data from heterogeneous systems.
Key Responsibilities
Product & Technical Validation
- Build strong expertise in the core product architecture, integrations, and deployment models.
- Validate integration points across multiple components and third-party systems.
- Support environment setup, configuration validation, and test lab readiness as needed.
Test Ownership & Customer Assurance
- Own end-to-end testing strategy and execution for assigned customers, covering:
- System Testing
- Integration Testing
- SAT / UAT
- Act as the primary testing focal point for customers, ensuring alignment with business use cases and deployment expectations.
- Define customer-specific test scenarios, configurations, test data, and validation criteria.
- Review and approve customer readiness for go-live from a test assurance perspective.
Test Design & Automation
- Design comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scenarios aligned to product and customer workflows.
- Develop and maintain test automation scripts using scripting languages (e.g., Python, Shell, PowerShell).
- Leverage automation frameworks/tools to improve regression coverage and testing efficiency.
- Ensure traceability between requirements, test cases, defects, and releases.
Problem Solving & Escalation Handling
- Independently handles:
- Complex integration issues
- Data-related defects
- Environment inconsistencies
- Uses database queries, logs, and scripts to drive root-cause analysis
- Leads defect triage with product and engineering teams
Key Purpose / Areas of Responsibility
- Perform intermediate-level database validation including:
- Writing and executing SQL queries
- Data integrity checks
- Performance and functional data validation
- Work with Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or EDB EPAS based environments.
- Support root cause analysis using backend data and logs.
Defect Management & Risk Assessment
- Proactively identify quality risks, gaps, and potential production issues.
- Drive defect triage with Product, Engineering, and Support teams.
- Ensure defects are documented clearly, prioritized correctly, and resolved within SLA expectations.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Work closely with:
- Product Management
- System / Integration Teams
- Customer Architecture & Program Teams
- Customer technical stakeholders
- Provide clear test status reporting, risk assessments, and release readiness inputs.
Qualifications , Mandatory Skills & Experience
Good to Have
- 15+ years of overall industry experience.
- Minimum 9+ years in system, integration, or customer acceptance testing roles.
- Experience working with enterprise-scale products in customer-facing environments.
- B.E. / B.Tech in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, or equivalent technical discipline.
Technical Skills
- Strong product understanding and ability to validate complex system workflows.
- Scripting & automation experience (Python preferred; Shell/PowerShell acceptable).
- Intermediate database knowledge:
- SQL query writing
- Oracle / PostgreSQL / SQL Server / EDB EPAS
- Solid understanding of SDLC and STLC, including defect lifecycle management.
- Experience with test management and defect tracking tools (e.g., Azure DevOps or similar).
- Exposure to utility, energy, AMI, or large-scale distributed systems.
- Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments and log analysis.
- Experience supporting customer deployments or upgrades from a testing standpoint.
- Basic understanding of networking, integrations, and APIs.
