Careers at Sunly

Last updated on Feb 26, 2026 | Report an issue

We are looking for a Business Analyst to join our Retail & Trading team. As Sunly builds the next generation of energy services - from renewable electricity supply to EV charging and battery storage - you'll help shape how these businesses grow, scale and create value. You will tackle some of the most important commercial questions facing the business: Which opportunities should we pursue? How do we create value for customers? How do we optimise our portfolio in a fast-changing energy market?

This role is for someone who enjoys turning data and insights into business decisions. You'll work closely with business leaders, contribute directly to strategic decisions, and help shape how Sunly grows its retail and trading business.

What you will work on

  • Analyse new and existing retail business opportunities, including:
    • Electricity sales and pricing
    • Balancing and portfolio optimisation
    • New products and value-added energy services
  • Support our trading activities by generating data-driven insights and helping optimise the performance of our electricity portfolio.
  • Support the development of business cases and recommendations, including:
    • Market sizing and commercial opportunity assessment
    • Margin logic and unit economics
    • Scenario analysis and sensitivity testing
    • Go/no-go recommendations and prioritisation proposals
  • Translate complex analyses into clear recommendations for decision-makers.
  • Prepare dashboards, presentations and concise decision materials for the Head of Business Unit and other stakeholders.

What describes you

Must-haves

  • Experience in business analysis, strategy, consulting, or commercial roles (energy, utilities, or infrastructure exposure is a plus).
  • Strong commercial intuition - comfortable separating ideas that can scale from ideas that cannot.
  • Strong Excel skills (you speak Excel almost as a native language) and confidence with PowerPoint.
  • Experience working with large datasets and analytics tools.
  • A structured communicator who can explain complex topics clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Fluency in English and Estonian.
  • Curiosity about renewable energy, customer behaviour and regulatory environment

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with electricity markets, balancing, or portfolio management.
  • Familiarity with energy retail products (fixed vs spot, hedging, customer segment economics).
  • Experience collaborating with product, engineering, or data teams to define requirements and evaluate solutions.

What we offer

  • Support for your wellbeing, inside and outside work - a quarterly sports allowance via Stebby, comprehensive employer-provided health insurance (including dental care and specialist visits), and access to mental health counselling and coaching via siffi.com.
  • Time to rest and reset - 28 working days of annual leave, counted only in working days and usable flexibly, plus additional paid days off, including health days and leave for important life events.
  • Room to grow professionally - meaningful, hands-on challenges and a dedicated training budget for courses, certifications, and conferences, alongside internal learning opportunities to support your development.
  • Flexible hybrid work - we work in a hybrid way, with no fixed rules on office days. You are trusted to balance remote work with time in the office, and while much can be done remotely, a lot happens in the office and being there regularly makes collaboration easier.
  • Work that contributes to the energy transition - you will be part of a team building and scaling renewable energy across the region, working on services that support a more sustainable energy system.

If you are excited about contributing to the renewable energy sector, we would love to hear from you! We review applications on an ongoing basis, so we encourage you to apply as soon as possible.
