Job Description

At Cundall, we don't just design buildings-we are specialist designers and engineers, and our people shape resilient, responsible environments. Our MENA Sustainability team is leading the region's most ambitious projects, blending technical excellence with visionary thinking. We are looking for a dedicated and experienced professional who will be reporting to our Sustainability Lead in Riyadh office, someone who excels both on the ground and in collaborative design settings.

This is a role with two distinct, vital streams of impact: leading sustainability delivery during construction, and supporting our regional team on design and corporate sustainability initiatives.

The Role

Construction & Client Leadership

  • You will be the on-site sustainability authority, the direct link to our clients, and the driving force ensuring sustainability commitments become reality.
  • Act as the primary client interface for all sustainability matters during construction, managing expectations, reporting progress, and solving challenges in real time.
  • Represent Cundall in meetings with clients, consultants, and contractors.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant environmental regulations and sustainability standards.
  • Promote a culture of sustainability throughout the project.
  • Lead construction sustainability workshops with contractors to establish clear protocols for documentation, material compliance, and environmental management plans.
  • Liaise with CxA, ensuring HVAC, lighting, envelope, and renewable systems meet design intent and certification criteria (LEED & Mostadam).
  • Lead the handover process, compiling the final certification submission with support from the office team, and see the project through to awarded certification.

Design & Corporate Sustainability Support

  • When not on site, you will integrate into our MENA Sustainability team, contributing your expertise to earlier project stages and broader strategic goals.
  • Collaborate with sustainability consultants, building physics engineers, and design teams to integrate sustainable strategies into multidisciplinary projects from concept onward.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders such as architects, engineers, urban planners, and community representatives to embed sustainability into project design and execution.
  • Develop and implement policies and guidelines related to sustainability
  • Support the development of corporate sustainability initiatives, including:
    • ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) reporting and strategy.
    • Internal research, tool development, and knowledge sharing.
    • Green building certification strategy and innovation.

The Skills

  • You have at least a bachelor's degree in engineering (preferably Mechanical, Environmental or Electrical) or in Architecture.
  • You have a Mostadam AP & LEED AP BD+C credential with at least 7 years of hands-on experience managing the LEED & Mostadam certification process for two or more Gold-rated (or higher) projects of similar scale.
  • You have demonstrated 10-15 years of relevant experience.
  • You have proven experience managing sustainability on large-scale projects, with a strong grasp of LEED and Mostadam certification processes.
  • You are a confident leader on site, able to manage contractors and build trusted relationships with clients.
  • You possess strong technical knowledge in construction environmental management (IAQ, waste, materials, etc.).
  • You have excellent organizational and documentation skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (Arabic is an advantage).

We know that to be the best at what we do we need a diverse workforce underpinned by an inclusive culture. Creating environments where everyone can find joy doing their best work is also great for everyone. That's why we positively welcome applications from people of all backgrounds and identities, and encourage, support, and celebrate the diverse voices of our people.
