Job Description

Power Plant Solutions, based in Chennai and a division of Product Lines, provides support to global markets and regions through comprehensive power plant grid interconnection studies and adherence to grid code compliance. Our vision is to establish ourselves as the Global Centre of Excellence for grid interconnection and the deployment of sustainable energy solutions.

The PPS team is composed of highly skilled professionals with extensive experience in both industry and academia. We uphold the Vestas values of Accountability, Collaboration, and Simplicity, which form the foundation of our culture as we seek top-quality performance.

Responsibilities

  • Development and review of electrical power system simulation models for wind and hybrid plants
  • Detailed exposure to grid interconnection requirements and grid codes
  • Analyzing site specific grid interconnection solutions
  • Design and review the design for the BoP for wind power plants
  • Presentations and meeting with Grid operators/customers for project specific needs
  • Work in close co-ordination with the Regional PPS colleagues
  • Report writing and review of reports
  • Guiding one or more Engineers / Trainee in a team
  • Expected to lead a team and act as GGS Regional Lead

Qualifications

  • Master's / Bachelors in Power system / Similar engineering specialization
  • Acumen with minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in power system studies in renewable energy / Power domain
  • Experience in design & review of renewable grid interconnection solutions
  • Exposure to Grid codes and experience in providing a compliance for different TSOs
  • Candidate with proficiency in english communication skills
  • Tools experience in PSS/E Power Factory / PSCAD / ETAP / equivalent tools

Competencies

  • Proficiency in simulation tools like PSS/E, Power Factory, PSCAD, or equivalent tools
  • Solid electrical engineering background in relation to the substation engineering, Load flows, short circuit, transient analysis, harmonic assessment, relay settings & co-ordinations and eBoP
  • You are innovative and result oriented attitude with Managerial/Leadership exposure
  • Good at using MS-OFFICE products (WORD / EXCEL / POWER POINT / etc)
  • Experience in efficiently managing projects/tasks and guide a team of Engineers
  • Familiar with Grid codes and experience in providing a compliance for different TSOs
  • Worked in Grid code compliance studies or relevant Power system studies
