Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute advanced structural blade repairs, including:
    • Large-scale laminate reconstruction
    • Load-bearing structural repairs
    • Spar cap repairs
    • Major lightning strike damage repairs
    • Complex non-standard repair scopes
  • Lead planning and execution of critical repair campaigns, including repair sequencing, material selection, structural restoration methods, and quality validation.
  • Serve as the primary technical expert for complex blade damage assessments and repair strategy decisions.
  • Ensure compliance with OEM repair procedures, project quality requirements, and documentation standards.
  • Provide technical leadership, coaching, and mentoring to Level B and Level C technicians.
  • Interface directly with customers, site management, project teams, and OEM engineering representatives.
  • Support the development and implementation of repair solutions for non-standard blade damage.
  • Lead emergency response and rescue operations when required.
  • Maintain accurate technical documentation, inspection records, and repair reports.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of advanced wind turbine blade repair experience.
  • Active Siemens Blade Repair Level D Certification.
  • Proven experience performing high-complexity structural repairs on utility-scale wind turbine blades.
  • Expert knowledge of composite repair techniques, structural laminates, epoxy systems, core replacement, reinforcement systems, and curing processes.
  • Advanced ability to interpret OEM repair manuals, engineering instructions, and technical documentation.
  • Strong technical leadership and mentoring experience.
  • Ability to make sound decisions independently in demanding field environments.
  • Comfortable working at heights and within confined blade spaces.
  • Full travel availability across the United States.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to pass project-specific medical screening, background checks, and drug testing.
  • Professional working proficiency in English.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience working directly with Siemens Gamesa engineering and technical support teams.
  • Experience developing or implementing non-standard repair solutions.
  • Strong customer-facing communication skills.
  • Experience with digital inspection, reporting, and quality management systems.
