As a Project Manager within the Targeted Undergrounding Program, you will oversee complex infrastructure projects from planning through execution, partnering with internal teams, contractors, agencies, and communities to safely deliver projects that improve reliability and reduce wildfire risk. Responsibilities

  • Manages one or more moderately complex projects effectively using project management principles, tools, and techniques under time constraints, shifting priorities, and making critical decisions with minimal supervision.
  • Directs project initiation, planning, execution, control, and closure for core disciplines of project management (scope, schedule, and budget) independently.
  • Leads simple to moderately complex projects and deliver on team goals by influencing stakeholders within the department and exercising independent decision making, with consultation from leadership as needed.
  • Collaborates with peer Project Managers, department/division senior leadership, and other stakeholders departments as a key consultant to provide recommendations to drive projects forward.
  • Manages planning, development, and/or execution of electric transmission/distribution projects, which may include but is not limited to, wildfire, infrastructure replacement, load growth, poles, line upgrades, maintenance, or installations.
  • Drives milestones and reports on medium to large transmission and/or distribution projects which may include designs, schedules, projects applications, compliance and safety documentation, regulatory filings, and local and state agency coordination.
  • Performs complex power flow and fault analysis studies to determine system impacts and requirements for transmission lines.
  • Facilitates the progress of development plans, work packages, testing procedures, and energization sequences.
  • A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Seven or more years of experience in project management.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience directing and implementing small to medium projects including identifying, maintaining, and/or adjusting the cost, scope, and resources, managing vendors, and leading the formal planning, tracking, and reporting of project performance.
  • Ability to integrate work across related areas, develop the business and services to improve customer satisfaction and productivity, manage risks and safety appropriately, develop and execute business plans, direct information, and provide extraordinary service to internal and external customers.
  • Experience with service planning, overhead/underground construction standards, and collaborating with clients, peers, project personnel, and all levels of management to develop solutions and ensure partner buy-in.
  • Experience developing and delivering technical presentations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience managing pre-construction project constraints such as permitting, environmental requirements, regulatory requirements, and cross-function project execution to successfully drive project to execution.
  • Experience developing and delivering presentations to audiences that range from customers to internal company audiences.
  • Strong relationship building skills with a demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders, facilitate cross-functional collaboration, and gain alignment on project objectives and solutions.
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel, Power BI, Microsoft SharePoint, and WorkIT.
  • Ability to work independently on multiple projects/assignments concurrently with minimal oversight under tight timelines.

  • This position's work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days.???
