Job Description

Greenstone Energy GmbH is a fast-growing company in the field of sustainable energy solutions. Since 2015, we have been committed to providing climate- and environmentally-friendly energy supplies using 100 percent renewable energy. Our best-known brands are VeganStrom and New Energy Cloud. This makes us not only pioneers in the field of animal-friendly green electricity offers, but also technologically innovative.

Our team currently consists of around 25 people and we expect to grow to roughly 40 employees over the next 12 months as we expand our customer base.

As we grow, we are looking for a People Operations & Compliance Manager to support our team and help ensure that our internal processes scale with the company.

This role combines hands-on HR operations with compliance and regulatory coordination, helping us maintain strong people processes while ensuring we remain aligned with regulatory requirements in a dynamic energy market.

Level: Mid-level to team lead Location: Berlin / Hybrid (3 days in the office)

Your role

You will take ownership of people operations and internal compliance, ensuring our HR processes run smoothly while helping improve and scale them as the company grows.

You will work closely with leadership, support managers on HR topics, coordinate with external providers (payroll, legal advisors and data protection), and serve as an internal point of contact for regulatory and compliance questions.

You will also work closely with our part-time HR & Team assistant, helping coordinate HR-related processes and documentation.

Key responsibilities

People Operations

  • Manage the employee lifecycle including contracts, onboarding and offboarding
  • Maintain and improve existing HR policies, documentation and contract templates
  • Coordinate monthly payroll with our external payroll provider and ensure HR data accuracy
  • Support recruitment processes and help maintain a consistent hiring experience
  • Support managers on HR processes and German labour law topics
  • Maintain and improve HR tools and systems

HR Process Development

  • Maintain and further develop our performance review process
  • Support the development of career progression and role frameworks
  • Help refine compensation and promotion guidelines
  • Improve recruiting and interview processes
  • Ensure HR policies remain aligned with company growth and regulatory requirements

Compliance & Governance

  • Support GDPR processes in coordination with our external Data Protection Officer
  • Maintain internal compliance documentation and policies
  • Monitor relevant regulatory developments affecting the business
  • Coordinate with external legal advisors when necessary

Customer & Regulatory Coordination

  • Review and respond to regulatory or legal questions raised by customers
  • Support the handling of escalated customer complaints
  • Maintain internal documentation and response templates for common regulatory topics
  • Work closely with customer support and operations teams on regulatory matters

What you bring

Experience & Skills

  • 4-7 years of experience in HR / People Operations, compliance, or a similar role
  • Solid understanding of German labour law
  • Experience maintaining HR processes and documentation
  • Ability to work with external providers such as payroll, legal advisors or compliance partners
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Fluent German and English

Mindset

  • Pragmatic and solution-oriented approach to problem solving
