Job Description

Are you a curious student within engineering, physics or chemistry, looking for an exciting place to carry out your thesis project or internship period during the autumn of 2026? Does the idea of contributing to an innovative and sustainable scale-up sound interesting? Then come, join our team and take part of the Epishine journey as a master thesis student within R&D!

The projects

Epishine is now looking for students that would like to carry out their master thesis or internship project in our R&D lab during autumn of 2026. The work will be concentrated around experimental development of organic electronic materials. The over-arching aim is to improve photovoltaic cells performance and thus accelerate the transition of the global energy market towards zero emissions. Together we will custom tailor a specific topic that combines your skillset with our needs.

Examples of projects could be:

  • Finding new ways of assessing device material quality for Chemists
  • Exploring new ways of combining materials to achieve better performance for Material Scientists
  • Digging deep into optoelectrical properties of semiconductors for the Physicists

At Epishine, we believe in the power of interdisciplinary collaboration. That's why we encourage cross-functional projects where every perspective matters. Our focus is on broader exploration rather than diving too deep into narrow subjects. Whilst there will be support available, you will be expected to take a lot of responsibility and drive your own project forward.

You will be based in our brand-new facilities in Linköping, and be supervised by our co-founder and R&D Director Thomas Österberg.

Who are we looking for?

You are a student who is planning to carry out your master thesis or internship project during the autumn of 2026. You have an educational background in engineering, physics, chemistry or similar, and you have a clear technical interest. Further, you have a strong ambition to implement this knowledge by practical work in a wet lab.

Moreover, you are a social person who thrives in a diverse culture where we have a lot of fun. You are an energetic and motivated team player who loves to solve problems. You are also able to work independently and drive your own work forward. Since you'll be working on the forefront of organic electronics, you realize that the work will be more exploration-driven rather than executing a pre-determined plan.

Lab experience is beneficial but not a requirement. As we are an international team, you must be comfortable in written and spoken English. You must also have a right to reside in Sweden.

Why Epishine?

At Epishine, we offer the chance to be part of an exciting journey and the opportunity to contribute to a more sustainable planet. You will be learning from some of the best engineers, and you will get insight into the challenges and opportunities that come with working on ground-breaking technology in a quickly growing scale-up.

Application Procedure

The last day to apply is on the 31st of August, however we work with ongoing selection so don't wait to apply! We agree on the start date and duration of the project.

We look forward to hearing from you!
