Job Description

Then you might be our new Project Controller (f/m/d) at Semco Maritime.
In your new position as Project Controller (f/m/d), you will be a valuable member of our dedicated Controlling Team, responsible for both project and financial controlling. Together, we foster collaboration, share knowledge, challenge each other professionally and support each other in a culture where there is room for both professionalism, ambition and humour. In this role, you will be a central sparring partner for both project managers and management. You will also be a key player in improving and standardizing controlling tools for both internal and external reporting of cost.
Your place of work will be in Hamburg or Emden. The position is full-time and you can expect to travel about 10 days per year in connection with project collaboration.

Your tasks & responsibilities
In the role of Project Controller (f/m/d), you tasks will include, but are not limited to:
- Reviewing contracts and PO from Clients and understanding conditions that affect the project's economics
- Bridging the hours booked to projects with the project calculation to ensure we are on plan for the projects
- Preparing and quality assuring financial reporting for both project managers and clients - from details to overall overviews and invoicing both internally and externally, including follow-up on overdue invoices
- Controlling project transactions and discrepancies including ensuring correct transactions
- Controlling of actuals, budgets, forecasts and variations
- Contributing to the improvement and standardization of controlling processes, so that we continuously optimize and create a better framework for financial management.
- Supporting project managers in financial issues and being the go-to person for finances in the projects
Your profile & qualifications
To succeed in this position, we imagine that you have:
- An economic education like a university degree in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering or similar (University, FH, dual study program)
- 5+ years of experience with project controlling or controlling - preferably in a project-oriented company
- Strong Excel skills and curiosity towards new ways of working
- Systematic and analytical approach to work with an eye for both details and wholeness
- An independent style of working while being able to handle responsibility, several parallel tasks and sharp deadlines
- Strong communication skills, that foster collaboration, paired with a service-oriented approach
- Solid communication skills in both German and English at a high level, that you are looking to use in your day-to-day life
