The Wärtsilä Land and Sea Academy (WLSA) provides high-quality training services, focusing on delivering comprehensive training on Wärtsilä products and solutions to both internal and external customers in the Marine and Power Plant industries worldwide.

We are now looking for a technically oriented team player to join our skilled Training Development team as a Designer, Training Development. The role is offered as a permanent contract in Turku, Finland. Our team embraces a hybrid working model, and in this flexible role, you will have the opportunity to work remotely part of your working time.

What will you be doing?

As part of the Training Development team in WLSA, you will be supporting training centres and other stakeholders globally. Your main responsibility will be creating online training content for Wärtsilä products and solutions.

The ideal candidate is passionate about clear technical communication, possesses hands-on experience with eLearning authoring, and excels at creating effective training materials.

Your responsibilities for the role include, but are not limited to

  • Developing and maintaining online training content
  • Transforming technical information into clear, user-friendly content
  • Collaborating with subject matter experts globally to ensure accuracy and relevance of training materials
  • Leading, managing, and participating in training development projects

The below will enable you to succeed in this role

  • Strong working knowledge of eLearning authoring
  • Experience with technical documentation
  • Knowledge of creating animations/videos is advantageous
  • Knowledge of Wärtsilä products is advantageous
  • Ability to simplify complex technical concepts
  • Pedagogical skills and/or experience with training-related tasks is advantageous
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a can-do attitude
  • Self-directed approach to work with willingness to take initiative
  • Collaborative team player mindset
  • Structured and organised way of working
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken
