With approximately 1,135MW of grid-connected batteries live or under contract, Zenobē supports over 2,000 electric vehicles globally, catering to a diverse range of clients from public transport fleets to industrial sites (source: cbinsights.com). Their competitive edge lies in being the UK's leading owner-operator of transmission-connected battery storage, leveraging vertical integration and software-driven optimization to maximize battery lifecycle efficiency (source: zenobe.com).

Projects & Track Record

Zenobē has successfully completed several notable projects, including the Wishaw battery storage site in North Lanarkshire, Scotland, which features a 50MW system capable of storing wind power for 130,000 households for two hours, inaugurated at the end of 2023 (source: energy-focus.net). By late 2020, the company operated around 75MW of UK grid-scale batteries and supported approximately 100 electric buses under managed service (source: youtube.com). Ongoing projects include the Kilmarnock South battery project in Scotland, which is set to come online in 2025, and six new electric bus depots across West and South Auckland, New Zealand (source: zenobe.com). Their geographic presence spans multiple regions, including the UK, Australia, New Zealand, North America, and Benelux, with significant investments aimed at doubling storage capacity in Scotland (source: energy-focus.net).

Recent Developments

In the past two years, Zenobē has made significant strides, including the inauguration of the 50MW Wishaw site in late 2023 and the groundbreaking of the Kilmarnock South project in January 2024, which aims to balance the grid using green energy from wind farms (source: energy-focus.net). The company also opened Australia's first multi-user electric truck charging hub in Sydney, further expanding its footprint in the EV sector (source: zenobe.com). Zenobē has secured debt financing for battery energy storage systems and is on track to achieve 1.2GW of storage capacity by 2026, demonstrating its commitment to scaling operations (source: zenobe.com). Additionally, they participated in National Grid ESO's Constraints Collaboration Project, proposing enhancements for flexible battery capacity (source: zenobe.com).

Working There

Zenobē offers a variety of roles across multiple departments, including power engineering, technology (R&D, product development for EV charging), finance, and operations. The company is headquartered in London, with additional operations in Australia, New Zealand, North America, and Benelux, indicating a diverse and international workforce (source: zenobe.com). The culture at Zenobē emphasizes innovation and agility, with a focus on balancing commercial and environmental priorities to achieve net-zero goals. Job Description

Our mission is to make clean power accessible. We are passionate about making a positive impact on communities and the environment where we work.

We're designing, financing, building and operating the world's most sophisticated battery systems to enable the take up of more renewable power, electrifying fleets for cleaner air, and providing clean, portable power including repurposed electric vehicle batteries. Our proprietary software and data analysis optimises operational performance for our customers to reduce emissions and costs.

Since we began in 2017, we've raised over £2.7 billion in debt and equity funding and transformed it into >1.2GW of grid-connected batteries live or under contract and c.3,400 electric vehicles supported. We have operations in the UK, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, and the US and Canada, with a global headquarters in London.

We're the leading owner and operator of battery storage in the UK, supporting the National Grid with the uptake of renewable power. We also work with c.90% of the UK's major bus companies, powering 25% of the UK e-bus market. We're also the number one owner and operator of e-buses in Australia and New Zealand, and are quickly expanding into light commercial vehicles and trucks. Our rapidly growing company is looking for highly talented and motivated people to join us.
