The Quality Control Shift Supervisor is responsible for overseeing end-to-end daily Quality Assurance and Quality Control operations across solar cell manufacturing during the shift. This role ensures that solar cells adhere to strict industry standards, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements. The Shift Supervisor leads a team of Quality Technicians and Quality Inspectors. This role collaborates with cross functional team such as Production, Process, Equipment, Facilities and Quality Engineers to contain shift quality deviations, resolve inspection failures, and track action items from engineering teams. The core objective is to sustain shift compliance, reduce scrap generation, stabilize cell performance and reliability, and protect the company's reputation for high-performance solar cells.

2-2-3 (two days on, two days off, 3 days on, 2 days off, 2 days on, 3 days off)
Hours
6-6:30; rotates between day shift and night shift every 3 months
Primary Responsibilities
- Oversee full shift workflows for all IQC, IPQC, OQC and QE/Reliability Technicians and Inspectors within the shift - direct personnel supervision, attendance management, shift training coordination, inspection and testing schedule planning, and daily task prioritization.
- Manage shift frontline execution of incoming material checks, in-process manufacturing monitoring, final outgoing inspections, and routine reliability screening at critical solar cell production stages.
- Enforce strict adherence to customer technical requirements, standardized test workflows, electrical performance thresholds (efficiency, Voc, etc.), reliability stress test parameters, and formal quality acceptance criteria during all shift inspections and testing activities.
- Lead on-shift preliminary defect and failure trend identification using EL/PL imagers, IV curve tracers, microscopy, and reliability test chambers; escalate recurring, systemic failures to the corresponding functional Quality Engineer (IQC/IPQC/OQC/Reliability QE) for formal root-cause analysis and CAPA development. Track implementation and sustained effectiveness of corrective/preventive actions defined by engineering.
- Complete shift-level internal compliance audits to verify consistent execution of SOPs, reliability test protocols, regulatory standards, and customer quality mandates on the production and test floors.
- Maintain complete inspection, reliability test and non-conformance records for customer & third-party audits; coordinate with QEs to resolve and close audit findings.
- Drive team communication and training for new or updated procedures or test plans, ensuring full adherence to approved technical standards.
- Generate daily/weekly quality & reliability shift reports, maintain centralized test data systems, share trend analysis with the Quality Manager, attend daily operations meetings and present reports/updates/findings.
- Follow all corporate Quality and EHS safety requirements.
- Complete other shift quality and operational tasks assigned by the Quality Manager to hit plant Quality & Reliability goals.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering (e.g., Electrical, Mechanical, Materials Science), Quality Management, or a related field, preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in quality department within a manufacturing environment. Solar cell fabrication, semiconductor manufacturing, or renewable energy industries preferred.
- 1+ years of prior supervisory experience and proven people leadership managing teams of 3+ employees.
- Understanding of ISO 9001:2015 standards and experience in ISO audits (internal and/or external); ability to conduct internal audits.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret quality data and drive data-based decisions.
- Knowledge of statistical process control (SPC), root cause analysis (RCA) tools (e.g., 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagrams), and data analysis software (Excel, Minitab).
- Strong sense of accountability, problem-solving acumen, and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
- Proficiency in quality documentation (e.g., SOPs, audit reports) and report writing; experience developing training materials for technical or quality processes.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Skilled in common office software (e.g., MS Excel for data analysis, Word for documentation).

- Primarily works in a manufacturing facility, including cleanroom or controlled-environment production areas.
- Exposure to low levels of chemicals or equipment noise may occur; personal protective equipment (PPE) is provided
