The Quality Manager, Reynosa, is responsible for overseeing and directing all quality assurance and control activities within the manufacturing facility. This role ensures that products meet internal specifications, customer requirements, and applicable regulatory standards. The Quality Manager leads the development and implementation of quality systems, manages audits, and drives continuous improvement initiatives across the organization. The Quality Manager plays a key role in maintaining compliance, enhancing product reliability, and fostering a culture of quality throughout the plant.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) in alignment with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and customer-specific requirements.
- Lead internal and external audits, including customer, certification, and regulatory audits.
- Monitor and improve key quality metrics such as FPY, scrap, rework, and customer complaints.
- Manage the quality team, including engineers, technicians, and analysts, ensuring proper training and performance.
- Oversee root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) for quality issues.
- Interface with customers regarding quality concerns, product performance, and audit findings.
- Ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations related to product quality.
- Collaborate with production, engineering, and supply chain teams to support new product introductions and process changes.
- Maintain documentation and records required for traceability, audits, and regulatory compliance.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement through Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen methodologies.
Accountabilities
- Ensure full compliance with internal and external quality standards.
- Maintain audit readiness and successful certification outcomes.
- Deliver measurable improvements in quality KPIs and customer satisfaction.
- Lead the resolution of major quality issues and systemic improvements.
- Develop and mentor the quality team to achieve operational excellence.
- Represent the company in customer meetings, audits, and quality reviews.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- In-depth knowledge of quality management systems and standards (ISO 9001, IATF 16949, ISO 14001).
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Proficiency in statistical analysis tools and software (Minitab, SPC, Excel).
- Excellent problem-solving skills using structured methodologies (8D, DMAIC, FMEA).
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.
- Effective communication and negotiation skills with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Experience in electronics or electromechanical manufacturing processes.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and digital quality platforms.
- Fluent in English and Spanish (written and verbal).
- High level of integrity, accountability, and attention to detail.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 7-10 years of experience in quality management within a manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience in leading audits, managing quality systems, and driving improvement initiatives.
- Six Sigma certification (Black Belt preferred) or equivalent training in Lean methodologies.
- Experience working in a maquiladora or high-volume production setting.
- Advanced proficiency in English.
