The team is under Global Finance of Vestas Shared Services Centre. General Ledger is mainly responsible for periodic closing of the company's financial records, Statutory reporting and SOX Compliance documentation. The group is expected to have close collaboration with regional finance, payroll & treasury department as well as with the other functions in SSC such as AP/AR/TE & Controlling and Reporting.
Responsibilities
- Manage complex month-end, quarter-end, and year-end finance and accounting closing activities in full compliance with group accounting policies/controls and performance targets (SLAs. KPIs, OPIs).
- Deliver timely, accurate, and insightful financial reporting and analysis to support strategic decision-making and meet the needs of key stakeholders
- Proactively communicate potential and identified issues and its updates or help needed to the relevant stakeholders as an input for pre-close meetings and ensure follow-through until resolution with speed and quality.
- Resolve accounting issues promptly and escalate complex matters in advance of the month-end close to ensure timely resolution.
- Identify and implement process improvements within assigned processes and ensure timely, high-quality updates of standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in any Finance, Accounting, Business Management or related area. Preferably with certifications (i.e. CPA, CMA, CIA, RCA, CTT, etc.)
- At least 3-5 years of relevant working experience in finance particularly Business Controlling, Financial Analysis, or any equivalent finance functions
- Good communication skills particluarly in English language - both oral and written and able to communicate insights to stakeholders and team members
- Proficient in Microsft Office applications i.e. Excel, Powerpoint, Word. Knowledge in using ERP system. Experience in SAP is an advantage.
- Possess strong analytical skills relevant for financial analysis i.e. variance analysis, formulating basic insights, and linking to finance and with curious growth and continuous improvement and learning mindset
- With experience in managing stakeholders and reporting insights generated from the analysis
- Flexible in work shift schedule depending on the region catered and willing to extend during month-end close, as needed. With experience in global shared service set-up is desired but not required
- Good Team player and self-starter with a "can-do" attitude; a quick learner in a complex, a demanding and a fast-paced environment

- Advanced working knowledge of accounting principles and able to apply to day-to-day operations
- Excellent communication skills particularly in English language - both oral and written. Ability to drive insights and analytics is an advantage
