We are currently growing our team in Italy within the Vestas Development Europe Region and are seeking an experienced Lead Development Professional to help advance renewable energy projects.
Your Role
In this position, you will play a key role in advancing wind farm projects through the development phase, working at the intersection of technical, environmental, and regulatory processes.
You will manage and coordinate contractors, consultants, and internal stakeholders to support the preparation of environmental, technical, and financial studies throughout project development. This includes reviewing Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) reports, Single Authorization documentation, feasibility studies, and environmental due diligence related to wind farm projects.
You will regularly conduct site visits alongside consultants and Vestas subject matter experts across different stages of development. In addition, you will manage project budgets and execution timelines, ensuring consistent tracking of progress and alignment with project goals.
A core responsibility will be preparing and submitting applications to relevant authorities - including EIA procedures, Single Authorization, and PAUR - ensuring full compliance with company standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements. You will also manage relationships with public authorities, support stakeholder engagement campaigns, and take part in public consultations as part of the permitting process.
Collaboration is essential, as you will partner closely with multidisciplinary internal teams, including engineering, environmental, and financial departments, to support effective project completion.
What We're Looking For
You hold a degree in a scientific or technical discipline, such as Energy Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field (Bachelor's degree acceptable).
You bring around 4 years of experience in renewable project development, within wind, solar, or broader energy sectors. You have practical experience in project management, including coordination with consultants, contractors, and internal specialists.
You are experienced in preparing and managing project budgets as well as monitoring timelines. You also have working knowledge of GIS, with at least 1-2 years of experience in a development context.
Advanced fluency in Italian is required, along with a good command of English (intermediate or higher) for internal documentation and communication. You are comfortable engaging with external stakeholders and participating in permitting processes, and you are willing to travel approximately 30% of your working time for site visits.
Your Skills
You are a skilled project manager, able to handle multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining focus on quality and deadlines. You communicate effectively and collaborate well across multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders.
You are detail-oriented, well-organized, and results-driven. You approach challenges with a strategic mindset and are able to develop practical and effective action plans. You consistently prioritize health and safety in your work.
What We Offer
This is a compelling opportunity to join one of Vestas's newest and most innovative business units, where you will play a direct role in advancing renewable energy projects.
We offer a hybrid working model (3 days in the office and 2 days remote), along with a competitive compensation package of up to €45,000 gross plus bonus, depending on your experience. Additional benefits include life and medical insurance.
Vestas offers meaningful opportunities to build your career at a global leader in renewable energy, where you will work alongside experienced professionals and support projects from origination to ready-to-build status.
