Accountabilities
Successful planning, implementation and application of all activities related to shift operations as per Wärtsilä Standards and Procedures.
Implementation of Power Purchase Agreement operational clauses.
Main Responsibilities
- To ensure/achieve maximum production by planning scheduled or unscheduled stoppages.
- Ensure that fluid samples are properly drawn and analyzed promptly to maintain quality assurance.
- Ensure all operations-related documentations are updated timely manner while maintaining quality.
- Responsible for the implementation of plant safety & environment policy.
- Responsible for communication with the Utility Company as per PPA requirement (where applicable)
- Carry out any other task assigned over the period by the Operations Manager.
- Maintain/Track Power Plant statistical performance, production, and root cause analysis and make suggestions/recommendations to the Operations Manager.
- Evolve training needs for subordinates and impart adequate training to enhance skill competency.
- To ensure/achieve maximum production by planning scheduled or unscheduled stoppages.
- Maintain Data quality related to daily operations reporting & WISE LT.
- Optimize utilization of shift personnel of the designated shift.
- Operate and Maintain the Plant during the shift according to company policies and procedures.
- Maintain the plant power production at the output designated by the management.
- To operate the plant within the acceptable loading envelope.
- Work in conjunction with the Maintenance Team to ascertain the condition of equipment, required maintenance activities, and scheduled overhauls.
- Lead in Start-up, shut-down, and normal operations of the power plant systems during the designated shift.
- Complete and maintain all logs and running records clearly and concisely according to guidelines.
- Take corrective action during system operational disturbance and/or bring such disturbances to the attention of the Operations Manager.
- Maintain the plant in clean & safe conditions at all times.
- Supervise emergency procedures to protect personnel and equipment in case of any damage or failure.
- Utilize all tools, equipment, and accessories in such a manner as to maximise useful operating life.
- Assist in the safe and efficient operation of the plant by bringing violations of subordinates to the attention of the Operations Manager.
- Provide the relieving Shift Engineer with a complete handover, bringing to his attention any operational disturbances, malfunctions, and abnormalities.
