What They Do
Trinity Solar specializes in residential solar installation, focusing on distributed solar photovoltaic (PV) systems and complementary services such as solar-plus-storage and roofing. The company began offering solar-specific services in the mid-2000s and has since grown to become one of the largest privately held residential solar installers in the United States, with operations expanding across the Northeast and selected Sun Belt states (source: bbb.org). Their comprehensive service portfolio includes site evaluation, system design, permitting, equipment procurement, professional installation, and customer care, all aimed at providing homeowners with effective solar solutions (source: trinitysolar.com). Trinity positions itself as a full-service installer, differentiating from smaller contractors by maintaining in-house capabilities across sales, design, and installation (source: solarpowerworldonline.com).
Projects & Track Record
Trinity Solar has a significant track record in residential solar installations, having reported over 20,600 systems installed, totaling approximately 218.5 MW by 2016 (source: solarpowerworldonline.com). The company primarily focuses on distributed rooftop systems rather than large utility-scale projects, which means their project portfolio consists of thousands of individual home installations across various states (source: energysage.com). While specific large project names are not typically highlighted, Trinity's emphasis on cumulative installation numbers showcases their extensive experience and operational scale in the residential market (source: solarpowerworldonline.com).
Recent Developments
In recent years, Trinity Solar has expanded its operations into new markets, including Delaware and New Hampshire, as part of its strategy to meet growing residential demand for solar energy (source: njbiz.com). The company has also been recognized in various industry rankings for its growth and scale, reflecting its ongoing commitment to enhancing its service offerings and geographic reach (source: solarpowerworldonline.com). As a private entity, Trinity's operational milestones are often reported in local trade press rather than large financial outlets, making it essential for stakeholders to monitor regional news for updates on their activities (source: highperformr.ai).

Trinity Solar employs a diverse range of roles across various departments, including sales, installation, design, project management, and customer service. The company operates regional offices in multiple states, providing ample opportunities for job seekers in the solar industry (source: trinitysolar.com). Trinity Solar is the nation's largest privately held residential solar and roofing company. Private equity backed with a strong and growing presence across the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic, we are committed to scaling with integrity and building the operational infrastructure to support continued growth.
We are seeking a Director to own warehouse operations, procurement, and fleet. Warehouse and fleet teams are already in place - what we need now is a disciplined operator who will formalize our purchasing function, bring rigorous cost control to materials management, and drive efficiency across all three areas. This role has broad scope, direct access to executive leadership, and a clear mandate to build.
Key Responsibilities

- Build and run a formal purchasing department from the ground up - sourcing discipline, PO management, and cost controls
- Oversee fleet operations - utilization, maintenance programs, cost management, and compliance
- Own materials planning - develop work forecasting tied to install schedules, manage stock levels to support install needs without over-ordering, and maintain tight inventory control
- Drive cost reduction through process improvement, vendor negotiations, and operational efficiency across all three functions
- Manage and develop a team of managers; hold the organization accountable to standards without top-down micromanagement
- Partner with field operations and finance to ensure materials availability, budget alignment, and cost visibility
- Treat the branches and field operations as the customer - foster a positive, collaborative environment for installation operations and lead teams that operate the same way
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience in solar warehouse operations - you understand the materials, the install cycle, and what it takes to run a tight supply chain in this industry
- Demonstrated track record of building or formalizing a purchasing or procurement function
- Strong accounting fundamentals - you can read and manage a budget, understand cost drivers, and build reporting that creates visibility
- Experience with demand forecasting and inventory management tied to production or installation schedules
- Proven ability to manage managers and hold teams accountable to operational standards
- Well versed in software, particularly Microsoft Excel
- Onsite in Wall, NJ with travel to operating markets as needed
