The reason for this role
The Legal Counsel - Property is accountable to the Deputy Head of Legal Goldwind Australia for the management of the provision of legal, risk and advice, to support Goldwind's property transactions and portfolio. This also includes the provision of internal advice and managing external firms.
The role will work collaboratively with the wider business to ensure that the operations of Goldwind are conducted within the limits prescribed by law and Goldwind's rights are protected through the provision of sound legal advice and guidance.
What you will be doing?
- You will be a key strategic member and advisor to Goldwind Australia and the executive members.
- Negotiate, draft, advise on and settle a broad range of property and joint venture transactions for Goldwind's core development business and service teams growing property requirements.
- Attend contract discussions and negotiations with stakeholders / landowners / customers / suppliers as required.
- Co-ordinate and oversee external law firms providing technical and dispute advice.
- Manage & resolve property disputes with landowners through mediation or litigation.
What does your background look like?
- Degree qualification in Law.
- Current practising certificate in Australia.
- 2 - 5 years (+) post-qualification experience in either a private practice or an in-house role.
- Demonstrated legal and commercial experience in managing and negotiating property transactions within the energy and/or infrastructure sector.
- Strong stakeholder management and a high level of relationship building skills.
- Ability to foster and maintain a strong team ethic and culture of continuous improvement.
