About the position
We are currently seeking a highly strategic and experienced Commissioning Manager to lead the planning, governance, integration, and delivery of commissioning activities for this multi-billion-dollar megaproject.
You will provide critical senior oversight to safely transition our monumental project assets into full commercial operation. This is a rare career-defining opportunity to build a high-performing team and leave a lasting legacy on Australia's energy infrastructure
Key Responsibilities
Working in a highly collaborative "One Team" model alongside Future Generation, Voith Hydro, and key operational stakeholders, your key accountabilities will include:
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement the overarching commissioning strategy, establishing the governance framework, systems, and assurance processes across the project.
- Complex Integration: Manage intricate interfaces across civil, mechanical, electrical, protection, SCADA, communications, and control systems.
- Program Delivery: Lead the sequencing and delivery of commissioning across all generating units, driving safe energisation, synchronisation, and handover.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Navigate and influence executive-level relationships, leading vital engagement with TransGrid, AEMO, and other regulatory authorities.
- Team & Culture: Mentor a multidisciplinary team of commissioning professionals while championing a safety-first, high-performance culture aligned with Snowy Hydro's core values.
About the location
This role is located at our Head Office in Cooma, NSW, working a standard Monday to Friday work week. We can look at relocation or a FIFO arrangement for the right candidate.
About you
- Extensive Experience: You will have an extensive background in leading commissioning programs on major infrastructure, energy, or industrial developments.
- Megaproject Pedigree: Demonstrated success leading commissioning on multi-billion-dollar, complex projects (hydropower, pumped storage, power generation, or oil & gas).
- Owner's Rep Expertise: Proven experience operating as the Owner's commissioning representative within EPC or Alliance delivery models.
- Technical Integration Skills: Deep experience in grid integration, energisation, and synchronisation activities with transmission operators and market authorities.
- Executive Presence: The ability to manage complex risks, resolve cross-functional issues, and present confidently to the Executive Leadership Team and Chief Delivery Officer
