We are looking for a Technical Expert in Wind Turbine Blade Maintenance to join our Global Maintenance Services team in India. In this role, you will be the go-to specialist for blade integrity, combining deep field expertise with cutting-edge diagnostics to keep our wind fleet running safely and efficiently.
What You'll Do
- Lead blade inspection campaigns, damage assessments, and hands-on repair activities across operational wind farms in the AMEA region.
- Perform complex blade repairs including surface restoration, leading-edge protection, crack sealing, and composite patching while ensuring OEM compliance.
- Conduct detailed Root Cause Analyses for blade failures, erosion, delamination, and lightning damage, and challenge OEMs with evidence-based findings.
- Detect early blade failures using site observations, drone imagery, ultrasonic testing, thermographic scans, and condition monitoring data.
- Provide immediate technical support to site teams during blade interventions, retrofits, and major repair campaigns.
- Evaluate and recommend market-available repair solutions including advanced coatings, retrofit kits, and emerging blade technologies.
- Contribute to the development of Standard Operating Procedures and integrate monitoring insights into maintenance planning.
What You Bring
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Renewable Energy, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 10 to 15 years of hands-on experience in wind turbine blade inspection, repair, and diagnostics.
- Proven track record in conducting RCAs and engaging directly with OEMs and blade manufacturers.
- Strong understanding of composite materials, aerodynamic design, bonding techniques, and blade failure modes.
- Familiarity with blade monitoring platforms, drone-based inspection systems, acoustic sensors, and vibration analysis tools.
- Knowledge of rope access techniques and safety standards for working at height.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to engage with diverse stakeholders across technical and operational teams.
Location
Pune, India - On Site. This role involves regular travel to operational wind farm sites across the AMEA region.
