Job Description
Do you want to join a global leader in renewable energy infrastructure? If so, CIP Fund Solutions (CIP FS) is looking for an Finance Operations Associate to join our office in Chicago, United States of Americas.
The CIP FS Americas organization supports a portfolio of operational onshore wind, solar, and battery projects, as well as projects currently under development and construction and all holding companies sitting between the projects and the funds. CIP FS Americas has 12 employees located between Chicago and Mexico City responsible for the execution of capital transactions, accounting policy, accounting close, core finance processes and treasury activities. The open role is to report to our senior manager of finance operations. The role will also work collaboratively for certain workstreams with the senior associate and manager on the Finance Operations team.
Role
As our new Finance Operations Associate, you will work with U.S. and Canada accounting processes and projects and report directly to the Senior Manager Finance Operations. In this position, you will review work performed by external service providers to ensure accurate and timely completion of periodic accounting closes and delivery of financial reporting.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities will consist of but are not limited to:
- Review quarterly and annual financial statements and trial balances prepared by external accounting service providers, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP
- Support requests from external auditors during annual audits and ensure timely resolution of audit findings
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of accounting operations
- Review and identify the accounting implications and contractual reporting requirements (when relevant) for certain legal agreements (I.E. purchase and sales agreements, limited liability company agreements, and statements of work from service providers) with the support of manager/senior manager.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with internal stakeholders both in the US and in Denmark including the investment team, tax, transactions, and asset management team.
- Support the enforcement of internal controls for procure to pay process
You
We are looking for a motivated individual holding a relevant degree with min. 1-3 years of relevant full-time experience from a similar role. Besides this, you have experience with automating key processes/workflows.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Self-motivated with a structured, methodical and disciplined approach to work, strong attention to details, and the ability to independently connect the dots, prioritize effectively, and to thrive under shifting priorities
- Results-driven with a high execution orientation, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams, address issues pragmatically, and follow tasks through to completion
- Experience in Renewable Energy, Power & Utilities, or Infrastructure preferred.
This role is located in Chicago. The team has a hybrid schedule (3-4 days a week in the office required) and works from our offices at 200 S Wacker.
