Job Description
The Backend Engineering Chapter, part of Digital Customer Channels & Experience within Vestas Digital Solutions, plays a key role in Vestas' digital transformation. The chapter is responsible for building and evolving backend capabilities that support digital products and platforms for Vestas' customers, while also enabling internal product teams.
We work in product‑led teams focused on designing, developing, and continuously improving scalable and reliable backend solutions. A central part of our way of working is the active use of AI in software development - both in the solutions we build and in how we improve development efficiency, quality, and collaboration. The chapter is a place where curiosity is expected, keeping skills and knowledge up to date is part of the role, and learning happens continuously through collaboration and experimentation. We value knowledge sharing and believe that building high‑quality customer‑facing solutions should be both professionally rewarding and fun.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain scalable, secure backend services for digital solutions used by Vestas' customers
- Use AI‑assisted development tools to improve code quality, productivity, and design
- Build backend components, services, and APIs, including solutions with AI‑powered capabilities
- Continuously improve performance, reliability, and development practices
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and contribute to a positive chapter culture
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or similar
- 3+ years of experience in backend development with Java
- Experience building scalable backend systems and RESTful APIs
- Interest in or experience using AI tools in software development
- Experience with cloud platforms (Azure), containers, and databases
