As our Business Development Manager, you'll play a key role in identifying, developing, and securing new opportunities across our operational renewable energy portfolio. Your commercial expertise will help drive business growth, support strategic decision-making, and contribute to our long-term net zero ambitions.
The Opportunity
As Business Development Manager, you'll lead the development of commercial opportunities within Asset Operations, supporting business strategy implementation and helping maximise value across the operational lifecycle of our renewable energy assets. You'll work closely with commercial, procurement, finance, engineering, legal and operational teams to develop successful tender submissions and secure new business opportunities.
Alongside a competitive salary and potential for an annual bonus, this hybrid role offers flexibility, with time spent at any of our office in #Durham, and occasional travel required for collaboration and key meetings.
You'll be responsible for preparing commercial business cases, analysing profitability, managing opportunities through the full sales lifecycle, and supporting contract negotiations. This is an opportunity to influence senior stakeholders, shape commercial strategy, and contribute directly to the continued growth of EDF power solutions' operational business.

Who You Are
We're looking for a Business Development Manager who combines commercial expertise with a proactive and collaborative approach. You'll be comfortable working across multiple stakeholder groups, developing complex tenders and contracts, and supporting business growth within an engineering, industrial or operational environment. - Either a degree-level qualification in a related discipline, or significant commercial experience demonstrating an equivalent level of knowledge and expertise
- Experience working in an operational environment within the wind energy sector
- Comprehensive knowledge of contract development with a proven track record of supporting or delivering successful commercial agreements
- Knowledge of business insurance and practical application of health, safety and environmental requirements
- Whilst not essential, an MCIPS or MRICS qualification and experience in ERP systems development would be advantageous.

- Leading business development activities and supporting implementation of Asset Operations business strategy
- Developing and coordinating commercial tender responses and bid submissions
- Analysing operational and financial data to support tender and investment decisions
- Identifying and qualifying new business opportunities and revenue streams
- Managing opportunities through the full business development lifecycle
- Preparing business cases, presentations and budget analysis for senior stakeholders
- Supporting contract negotiations and securing new operational service agreements
- Building strong relationships with commercial, procurement, engineering, finance and operational teams
- Monitoring market trends and recommending approaches to support future growth
- Ensuring adherence to governance requirements, confidentiality obligations and audit standards
