We are looking for a Tax Manager / Senior Tax Manager to join our Finance & Control organization at Vaisala headquarters in Vantaa, Finland. What's your role?
You will be part of our Group Tax Team, which is part of the Finance & Control organization at Vaisala. In this role you will have an excellent opportunity to ensure that taxes are efficiently managed throughout the group. While your primary focus will be on indirect taxation, you will also contribute to direct tax and transfer pricing matters. You will work in close co-operation with business, finance and legal. Moreover, you will also collaborate with external stakeholders such as external advisors and tax authorities. You will report to Head of Tax.
In this role you will:
- Develop Vaisala's indirect tax processes and controls in line with best practices and Vaisala's Tax Strategy.
- Advise on tax-efficient structures for sales, supply chain, as well as Vaisala strategic initiatives and new business models, including service-based and XaaS offerings, to support compliant and profitable international growth.
- Provide day-to-day tax support to the business and other stakeholders.
- Lead tax assessments for international project deliveries and new country operations, collaborating with external advisors as needed and coordinating the successful implementation of tax advice.
- Contribute to M&A transactions by supporting tax due diligence, structuring, and post-close integration.
- Plan and participate in change projects relating to indirect tax (such as ViDA).
- Serve as indirect tax expert for SAP S/4HANA system purposes.
- Strengthen tax awareness and capabilities across the organization by delivering training programs and developing internal guidance.
- Monitor legislative changes and assess their impacts on Vaisala.
- Manage tax audits.
- Prepare tax related disclosures to the Group's annual report, e.g. Vaisala's tax footprint.
What will you bring?
- Previous working experience in VAT and indirect taxation; experience in other fields of tax is considered an advantage.
- Good understanding of international tax laws and practices.
- Experience of managing work with external consultants and ability to interpret and apply advice relating to foreign tax systems.
- Good team working skills and willingness to take initiative and lead your own work in a fast-paced environment with multiple stakeholders and deadlines. Strong problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying practical solutions.
- Interest in achieving efficiency through AI and automation in tax operations.
- Excellent communication skills in English.
- Master's degree in law, accounting or business administration.
