Job Description

Charge Robotics is a Series A startup building robots that build solar farms.

Demand for new solar projects is booming (1 ⁄ 5 of all the solar that exists in the US was installed last year!), but today's construction companies can't keep up due to limited labor resources.

We thought this was insane, so we started working on robots to directly address this bottleneck and speed up the world's transition to renewables.

Charge is a fast-moving company, which means constant opportunities for learning and growth. You'll have a large impact on the direction of our company, and will be compensated accordingly.

We're MIT-founded and backed by top generalist and climate tech investors, including Energy Impact Partners, Founders Fund, Lux Capital, and Y Combinator (S21).

If you are excited to work on interesting problems with direct climate impact, you're going to fit right in! Read more about Charge here:

About this role

As our Inventory & Logistics [Coordinator/Manager], you'll be the person who makes sure every part we buy arrives, gets logged, and ends up in the right place at the right time-so our engineers and build team never wait on materials. You'll own receiving, inventory accuracy, and inbound/outbound logistics as we scale from building one robotic system to several per year.

What you'll be working on

  • Receiving inbound shipments-unboxing, inspecting, and reconciling deliveries against packing slips and purchase orders in our supply chain systems (Silkline)
  • Logging received parts into inventory (ION) and keeping quantities, locations, and records accurate through cycle counts and audits
  • Developing and rolling out inventory management and controls processes in a R&D (highly iterative) environment
  • Organizing and maintaining the stockroom and warehouse-labeling, binning, and staging so parts are easy to find and builds stay on schedule
  • Kitting and staging materials for each system build in coordination with the engineering and technician teams
  • Keeping the engineering and technician teams stocked and organized-maintaining tools, hardware, and consumables and applying basic 5S organization to the shop and storage areas
  • Coordinating outbound and system logistics-arranging freight and parcel shipments (LTL/truck, FedEx/UPS), preparing shipping paperwork, and getting systems and spare parts out to job sites
  • Supporting international and export logistics for shipments to overseas projects-including our upcoming Fortescue deployment in Australia and other future international work
  • Partnering with the procurement and supply chain team to flag shortages, track incoming orders, and keep the flow of materials moving

You

  • Have at least 2+ years of relevant experience in receiving, inventory, warehouse, or logistics operations
  • Are highly organized, with strong attention to detail in managing inventory records and physical stock
  • Are comfortable working on your feet in a warehouse environment and moving/handling parts and equipment and lift up to 40 lbs
  • Have experience using inventory, ERP, or procurement software (and are comfortable in spreadsheets)
  • Have strong communication skills, a positive attitude, and enjoy working on a team
  • Are based in or can relocate to the SF Bay Area, and able to work 5 days/week from our San Leandro HQ
  • Are excited to see our robots deployed onto actual solar farms!

It'd also be nice if you

  • Have experience operating forklifts and/or telehandlers (certification a plus)
  • Have handled outbound freight, shipping/receiving operations, or export/international logistics
  • Have worked in a manufacturing, hardware, or robotics environment
  • Have worked at a fast-paced startup before, and enjoyed it
  • Have supply chain or purchasing coordination experience

Compensation Range: $80K - $110K
