Overview

The Manager, Service and Operations Deployment directs all field service and operation expansion activities. Under the direction of the VP Generation & Service, the Manager, Service and Operations Deployment is responsible for leading development & implementation of service and operation requirements to drive high performance execution across fielded assets. The scope may include developing Field Service and Operations processes such as maintenance and operations manuals, standard operating procedures, work instructions, and training packages to facilitate efficient execution for all new installations. Develop and execute resource plans to support new installations and training needed for all Field Service and Operations personnel involved. The Manager, Service and Operations Deployment works in coordination with Project Management, Asset Management, Field Service, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Quality to ensure the Service and Operations can execute high reliability support of fielded installations, particularly in the Data Center market.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Drive the development & implementation of the Service and Operations enhancements for all new installations during both the planning and execution phases.
  • Establish training procedures and associated documentation. Coordinate the training of new employees in operations, safety, environmental and technical areas.
  • Develop and implement a resource plan to support any new installation including recruiting/ selecting field service and operations personnel.
  • Update both site specific and product specific documentation as it relates to field service and operations.
  • Estimate costs associated with field service and operations for new sites including on-site and remote resources, preventative maintenance, and expected repairs.
  • Establish a record tracking system for all new sites to maintain operations and service records, such as work orders, site inspection forms, or other documentation.
  • Establish relationships with site localized partners to complete more specialized maintenance and support activities. Work with supply chain on establishing service agreements where appropriate.
  • Develop processes or procedures for field service and operations, including but not limited to transitioning from construction to commercial operations.

  • Engineering and Technology: Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services.
  • Personnel: knowledge of principle and procedures for personnel recruitment, training and negotiation, and personnel information systems.

Qualification

Education: Engineering Bachelor's degree required, MBA preferred

Experience: 5-7 years managing and supervising operations. Minimum of 2 years of prior Field Service Management. Minimum of 5 years of mechanical experience, power plant experience preferred.

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions

  • Must be able to physically work in an office environment, where work is sedentary, monitoring computers in an office environment

  • Must be able and willing to enter laboratory, and job site environments.

  • Be able and willing to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as designated such as safety glasses, safety shoes, hard hats, respirator, and other PPE as required.

  • Must be willing to travel locally using own vehicle with reimbursement for expenses and domestically as needed.

  • Must be able to observe technical issues on a computer screen and respond to alarms.

  • Ability to travel approx. 25%.

  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds

  • Regularly performs repetitive tasks

  • May have to drive distances > 300 miles.

  • Must have manual dexterity.

  • Ability to climb ladders.

  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
