Job Description

Amentum is seeking an Electrical Specialist - High Voltage to join our team in McLean, Virginia!

Work Schedule: A willingness to work rotational shifts if necessary, including days, evenings, and nights, as well as overtime, weekends, and holidays, as required.

Essential Responsibilities

Inspect, repair, replace, install, adjust, maintain, and make necessary tests on all medium and low voltage 15KV, 4160V, 480V and 208V utility systems, equipment, motors, MCC panels, generators, transformers, switchgears, substations, distribution systems.

Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands

Incumbents may work in conditions that require operating industrial machinery/power tools and motor vehicles. Additionally, incumbents may participate in work that requires walking, bending, squatting, and carrying materials throughout the facility. Workplace conditions necessitate following strict safety guidelines and the use of Personal Protective Equipment. Work tasks requiring the incumbent to lift weight more than 50 pounds requires two or more persons.

Minimum Requirements (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  • Journeyman Electrician license.
  • Possess a strong background in industrial and commercial electrical apparatus and control circuitry maintenance.
  • Possess a strong background in low voltage switchgear maintenance and repair.
  • Must be thoroughly familiar with electrical test equipment.
  • Ability to write as well as comprehend written and oral instructions
  • A willingness to work rotational shifts if necessary, including days, evenings, and nights, as well as overtime, weekends, and holidays, as required.
  • Possess knowledge of current NEC regulations.

Security Clearance Required: Must be a U.S. Citizen, able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret Security Clearance.

Minimum Education: High school, technical school, apprenticeship, trade school graduate or equivalent required.

Minimum Years of Experience: Eight years' experience in the electrical trade in maintenance and/or construction required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master electrician license.
  • NFPA-70E Training.
  • OSHA 10 Training.
  • CPR Training.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
