Job Description

Ulteig is currently seeking talented and motivated Graduate Engineer level candidates to join our Grid Modernization team. This position is responsible for the development and execution of our Medium Voltage Distribution Grid Modernization work.

What You'll Do

This position will use advanced techniques, theory, precepts and practices to complete complex project features. Provides consultation for the design, development and implementation of technical plans & systems. Responsibilities will include developing plans for grid modernization solutions including project design criteria, distribution planning, performing load flow studies, DER interconnection application reviews, protection coordination studies, technology research, client contact, project scoping, estimating, and scheduling.

What We Expect from You

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or similar is required.
  • EIT certification is preferred
  • Previous experience working with or for a Utility is preferred
  • Must be analytical, self-motivated, and possess the ability to work in high-pressure situations while maintaining a positive, enthusiastic attitude
  • Excellent presentation and verbal/written communications skills
  • Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, management, clients and external agencies
  • Experience with a Distribution Load Flow software such as DNV GL Synergi Electric, Milsoft Windmil, or CYME Dist is preferred
  • Experience with Distributed Energy Resource (DER) interconnections, such as Battery Energy Storage Systems or photovoltaic system is preferred
  • Complete assigned tasks under supervision
  • Actively manage individual workload
  • Responsible for reviewing project drawings, calculations & specifications under supervision
  • Proven experience in Microsoft Software Applications (Word, Excel, Power Point, Access) is required
  • Demonstrates a wide degree of creativity and latitude.
  • Effectively communicates and interacts with clients to ensure we are meeting their needs.
  • Works closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline.
  • Must have authorization to work legally in Costa Rica for any employer.
