We are looking for a Customer Quality Manager to join our Products and Technologies organization within Vaisala Industrial Measurements, at our headquarters in Vantaa, Finland. This is a strategic, highly visible role: you'll turn field and customer insight into real product decisions, and unite R&D, Operations, Service and Sales around shared customer quality goals.

Vaisala is a global leader in measurement instruments and intelligence helping industries, nations, people, and the planet to thrive. From predicting hurricanes to optimizing renewable energy production, our technology is used where it matters the most - from data centers, windfarms and laboratories to airports, the Arctic and even the surface of Mars. For a second year running, Vaisala got recognized in TIME Magazine's World's Best Companies in Sustainable Growth 2026 study. Our team of close to 2,500 experts and 62 nationalities around the world is committed to taking every measure for the planet. Driven by our shared purpose, curiosity, and pioneering spirit, we stay ahead and make a difference. At Vaisala, you don't have to fit in to belong.

Why join us?

  • Join a growing, profitable business at the heart of critical industries like semiconductors, data centers, batteries, power transmission and life sciences.
  • Work with market-leading products, backed by continuous innovation and strong investment in new development.
  • Take on a genuinely end-to-end, cross-functional role spanning the full value chain, in close partnership with the business.

What's your role?

You will be part of our Products and Technologies organization, working alongside experienced, cross-functional professionals in R&D and product management. Together, you will have an excellent opportunity to define what quality means for our customers, and make sure that what we learn from the field - complaints, returns and failures - is turned into real improvements in our products, processes and ways of working. You'll work closely with R&D, Operations/Manufacturing, Service & Support, Sales/Account management, and the wider Quality organization. You will report to Vice President, VIM Products and Technologies.

  • Own customer quality requirements and be the trusted, customer-facing voice on quality - including negotiating quality agreements.
  • Own complaint handling and the 8D process end-to-end: lead the cases that matter and keep every ticket moving to closure.
  • Lead root cause analyses and equip teams with structured problem-solving tools.
  • Turn returns and failure data into strategic input for R&D and product management - this is what sets the role apart: your insight shapes design decisions and the roadmap, not just closes tickets.
  • Prepare and host customer audits, and drive closure on internal audit findings.
  • Drive yield improvements with Operations and R&D, and continuously sharpen our quality processes and tools.
  • Build lasting quality ownership across the organization by coaching teams in quality thinking and structured problem solving.

What will you bring?

  • Strong grounding in quality methods - especially 8D and structured root cause analysis - backed by a relevant academic background.
  • A natural ability to unite people across R&D, Operations, Service, Sales and Quality around a common goal, and the persistence to drive difficult issues all the way to closure. Technical quality expertise alone won't be enough - we're looking for someone who leads through influence.
  • Hands-on experience in customer-facing quality work - complaints, audits, quality agreements - and a sharp eye for turning failure and returns data into clear conclusions.
  • A solid feel for both product development and manufacturing realities, plus fluent English communication skills with customers - Finnish language skills are considered an advantage.
  • Curiosity and a growth mindset to explore, learn, and apply AI tools in your daily work. We expect everyone at Vaisala to actively discover how AI can enhance their work.
