The Director of Construction will be based in our Arlington, Virginia headquarters. The Director of Construction will oversee, coordinate, and manage the company's construction project portfolio.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

The Director of Construction is anticipated to have the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Plans and directs day to day operations and strategic direction of large, utility scale solar construction programs as well as lead a team of high performing professionals
  • Significantly contributes to creating and maintaining best in class policies and procedures
  • Establishes and maintains supply chain relationships
  • Leads, manages, develops staff, across multiple utility scale solar construction projects
  • Provides guidance and project leadership ensuring projects are meeting or exceeding company expectations
  • Directs as many as 25+ external vendors per project comprising General Contractors, A&E design teams, commissioning agents, equipment suppliers, etc.
  • Leads in establishing and maintaining high value relationships
  • Leads in developing and executing effective contract administration procedures, including generation, review, and monitoring of prime contracts, subcontracts, change orders, cost forecasts, and other pertinent documents and documentation
  • Helps the Senior Director of Construction leading project teams including Project Managers, Project Management Assistants, Site Superintendents, and Subcontractors
  • Manages all aspects of construction projects from pre-construction to project close-out

Education and Experience

  • Degree in construction management or related field preferred. Relevant experience will be considered in lieu of education
  • 10+ Years of experience in commercial construction project management or development
  • PMP or other project management certification preferred

Work Location, and Travel

This position will be based in Arlington, VA. Travel may be required throughout Virginia and the mid-Atlantic region up to 25% of time.

$170,000.00/yr - $200,000.00/yr
