As a Student Assistant in our Measurement department, you will help us work smarter. By improving and automating our processes and bringing structure to our documentation, you free up time for our engineers and project managers to focus on the measurements that help validate and improve our wind turbines. It is a flexible role where you will learn a lot and get more responsibility as you grow.

How You'll Make an Impact

  • Look into the department's procedures and identify where process automation can make our work simpler and smarter
  • Build and improve digital solutions using AI & Copilot, Power Automate, Power Apps and SharePoint - for example, automatically updating overviews when new measurement cabinets are built in our workshop
  • Keep documentation well-structured and accessible, strengthening knowledge sharing across the department
  • Support our project managers with structuring and organizing their work, so they can stay focused on delivery
  • Help out flexibly wherever the team needs you - and, as you grow, take on more complex tasks such as developing apps for our internal systems

What You Bring

  • You are studying for a bachelor's degree or have recently started your master's, ideally with at least two years of studies ahead of you, within Value Chain Management, Technology-Based Business Development or a related field such as engineering
  • You are curious, eager to learn and like to take initiative - we will teach you what you need along the way
  • You are open and not afraid to speak up, ask questions and reach out to colleagues
  • You are comfortable with Microsoft Office, and experience with AI & Copilot, Power Automate, Power Apps, Power BI or SharePoint is a plus
  • You speak and write English fluently; Danish is a plus

About the Team

You will join the Measurement department within our Technology organization. We install sensors on wind turbines, component tests and blade tests - onshore and offshore, worldwide - to validate designs, investigate issues and measure performance. The department includes project managers, engineers, electrical designers, technicians, a workshop team and other students, and we are a close-knit team that values collaboration and knowledge sharing.

You will be based at our office in Brande where you will be present in the office at least 1-2 days/week.

The company serves large-scale energy developers, independent power producers, and industrial customers in the development, construction, and operation of wind farms, with a focus on markets in Europe, Asia, and the Americas (source: energydigital.com).

Projects and Track Record

Notable completed projects include the Vindeby Offshore Wind Farm in Denmark, which was the world's first and operated for 25 years until 2017, as well as Gamesa's first wind farm in Spain at El Perdón, installed in 1995 (source: siemensgamesa.com). Currently, Siemens Gamesa is working on significant projects such as the Bałtyk II and III offshore wind farms in Poland, totaling 1.44 GW, and the La Herrada wind plant, which prevents the emission of 140,000 metric tons of CO2 annually (source: statzon.com). The company has secured significant contracts, including 1.44 GW for Bałtyk in Poland and 200 MW for Repsol in Spain, with a backlog of €33.7 billion despite a net loss of €884 million in the first quarter of 2023 (source: statzon.com). Furthermore, they have sold their power electronics business to ABB and launched innovations such as GreenerTower and RecyclableBlades, underscoring their focus on sustainability and efficiency (source: siemens-energy.com).

Working There

Siemens Gamesa offers a variety of roles in manufacturing, engineering, service operations, and project management, focusing on the design of onshore and offshore turbines, as well as research and development of new technologies (source: siemensgamesa.com). Hiring takes place at key sites, including their headquarters in Zamudio, Spain, and factories in Denmark, Germany, and France, with an emphasis on internal mobility during the restructuring that has led to a reduction of 4,100 jobs (source: ibisworld.com). The company culture focuses on operational stabilization and long-term profitable growth in the wind sector, despite challenges in the supply chain (source: siemens-energy.com).
