Job description
We're looking for a Trading Operations Specialist to join Sunly's Energy Trading team and take ownership of the operational processes behind our trading activities.
You'll make sure settlements and invoicing are accurate and on time, new assets are properly qualified and onboarded, and the agreements and data behind our trading portfolio are in order. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys working with numbers and details, takes ownership from start to finish, and looks for ways to build better, more automated processes as our trading operations grow.
What you will work on
- Own invoicing and settlement processes with Transmission System Operators (TSOs) and clients, ensuring invoices and settlements match actual trading activity
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies in prices, volumes, settlement data and invoices together with TSOs, clients and internal teams
- Manage settlement, invoicing and reporting deadlines and make sure required information is submitted accurately and on time
- Coordinate the qualification of new assets and portfolios with TSOs, including testing, documentation and cooperation with Asset Operations and IT
- Keep existing asset and portfolio qualifications up to date as market requirements and products change
- Coordinate the operational onboarding of new generation assets and consumption units, including registration, metering, data flows and master data
- Maintain an overview of TSO and client contracts, including commercial terms, volumes, prices, deadlines, renewal dates and notice periods
- Support internal reporting on trading volumes, revenues and settlement results
- Improve and automate recurring operational processes and reporting as the trading portfolio grows
What describes you
- At least 2-3 years of relevant work experience in back office, middle office, settlements, financial controlling or a similar role
- Hands-on experience with settlements, invoicing, reconciliations or financial reporting
- Confidence working with numbers and data, with a strong eye for detail and accuracy
- A sense of ownership and the ability to take processes and tasks from start to finish
- A mindset for improving how things are done, including simplifying and automating recurring work
- Fluency in English and Estonian
- Genuine interest in power markets, renewable energy and eagerness to use innovation and AI in your work
What we offer
- Support for your wellbeing, inside and outside work - a quarterly sports allowance via Stebby, comprehensive employer-provided health insurance (including dental care and specialist visits), and access to mental health counselling and coaching via siffi.com
- Time to rest and reset - 28 working days of annual leave, counted only in working days and usable flexibly, plus additional paid days off, including health days and leave for important life events
- Room to grow professionally - meaningful, hands-on challenges and a dedicated training budget for courses, certifications, and conferences, alongside internal learning opportunities to support your development
- Flexible hybrid work - we work in a hybrid way, with no fixed rules on office days. You are trusted to balance remote work with time in the office, and while much can be done remotely, a lot happens in the office and being there regularly makes collaboration easier
- Work that contributes to the energy transition - you will be part of a team building and scaling renewable energy across the region, working on services that support a more sustainable energy system
If you are excited about contributing to the renewable energy sector, we would love to hear from you! We review applications on an ongoing basis, so we encourage you to apply as soon as possible.

Additionally, Sunly has developed the 45 MW Raba solar park in Estonia and is advancing a 329 MW solar buildout in Latvia, supported by nearly €85 million in international financing, with sites located in Valmiera, Krāslava, Madona, and Saldus municipalities (source: eib.org). Sunly’s culture reflects a dynamic, growth-oriented environment focused on launching and operating large-scale renewable assets and expanding across multiple countries, rather than a traditional utility approach (source: eib.org).
