Company Overview
Max Bell Sdn Bhd, operating as AQ Energy
HeadquartersShah Alam, Malaysia
Founded2013
SizeApproximately 50-200 employees (source: indeed.com).
What They Do
AQ Energy specializes exclusively in solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, providing a comprehensive suite of services that includes design, supply, installation, maintenance, operation, and training for solar, power, and electrical systems (source: ctoscredit.com.my). The company primarily targets residential homeowners looking to reduce their energy bills through clean energy solutions, as well as commercial clients such as retail shops, warehouses, manufacturing plants, and logistics facilities. Their offerings are tailored to meet the specific needs of each sector, ensuring cost-effective and efficient energy solutions (source: aq.energy). AQ Energy differentiates itself by employing only in-house teams of fully certified local installers, ensuring quality and reliability without the use of subcontractors. They provide upfront pricing with no hidden fees, and their installations come with guarantees of workmanship, which are three years for residential and five years for commercial projects (source: aq.energy). Furthermore, they ensure full regulatory compliance with local authorities, including the Sustainable Energy Development Authority (SEDA) and Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB), which is crucial for hybrid systems that incorporate battery storage (source: aq.energy). Their primary market is within Malaysia, focusing on individual homeowners and industrial clients, with no noted international expansion as of yet (source: aqe-staging.fly.dev).
Projects & Track Record
While specific details regarding completed projects, such as names, locations, and capacities, are not extensively documented, AQ Energy has successfully transitioned from its initial focus on residential installations under the Feed-in-Tariff (FiT) program in 2013 to a broader portfolio that includes thousands of solar systems installed nationwide (source: aqe-staging.fly.dev). The company emphasizes quality over quantity, which has allowed it to build a solid reputation in the market. Although no major ongoing projects have been publicly named, the company continues to actively install systems across various sectors, including residential, commercial, and industrial rooftops throughout Malaysia (source: aq.energy). Key clients include individual homeowners and small commercial entities, with notable names such as Zulkifli Bin Mohamad Mokori and Shahidah, indicating a diverse clientele that spans multiple segments (source: aq.energy). The geographic presence of AQ Energy is extensive, with installations reported across Malaysia, and their operational reach is evidenced by hiring activities in Shah Alam and Perai (source: indeed.com).
Recent Developments
In the last two years, AQ Energy has not made any major announcements regarding new contracts, acquisitions, or funding rounds, with the most significant milestone being its rebranding in 2022 to align with its expanded vision and team (source: aqe-staging.fly.dev). There have been no documented awards or certifications beyond their use of BloombergNEF Tier 1 products, which underscores their commitment to quality but does not highlight any recent achievements or recognitions in the industry (source: aq.energy). This lack of recent developments may suggest a focus on consolidating their existing operations and enhancing their service offerings rather than pursuing aggressive expansion or diversification strategies.
Working There
AQ Energy offers a variety of roles primarily focused on installation and maintenance, including positions such as Solar Installer, Wireman, Chargeman, and Storekeeper, with salaries ranging from RM 1,800 to RM 3,700 per month depending on the role and location (source: indeed.com). The company also provides internship opportunities for students and new graduates, indicating a commitment to nurturing talent in the renewable energy sector. Departments within AQ Energy include business development, technical installation, and operations, with active hiring reported at their headquarters in Shah Alam and in Perai (source: indeed.com). The company culture is described as inclusive, with a focus on a mixed talent pool that promotes affordability and fairness in treatment of both the environment and employees. Their vision is to contribute to Malaysia's net-zero economy, although specific employee benefits and detailed indicators of workplace satisfaction, such as work-life balance, are not extensively documented (source: aqe-staging.fly.dev).
