To strengthen our international team, we are looking for an experienced Investment Manager (m/f/d) to lead the development and acquisition of solar and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects in Ukraine. In this strategically important role, you will be responsible for identifying, evaluating, structuring, and executing investment opportunities across the renewable energy value chain. A particular focus will be on advancing BESS opportunities, leveraging your understanding of the Ukrainian energy market and your network within the local renewable energy sector.
Tasks
- Lead project development and buy-side acquisition processes for Solar and BESS projects in Ukraine, including opportunity screening, valuation, due diligence, transaction structuring, negotiations, and transaction closing
- Drive the development and commercialization of Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) opportunities through market analysis, technical assessments, and revenue strategy development
- Support project finance activities, lender and investor due diligence processes, and the preparation of investment materials such as teasers and information memoranda
- Ensure compliance with ESG requirements and international standards expected by EBRD, IFC, EIB, and other international financial institutions, including environmental and social due diligence, stakeholder engagement, and sustainability reporting
- Build and maintain relationships with developers, government authorities, grid operators, landowners, advisors, financing institutions, and strategic partners to facilitate project development and transaction execution
Profile
- Master's degree in Economics, Business Administration, Finance, or a comparable field
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in project development and M&A buy-side transactions within the renewable energy sector
- Proven track record in originating, developing, evaluating, and executing renewable energy investments
- Strong experience in the Ukrainian Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) market
- Deep understanding of Ukrainian regulatory frameworks, permitting processes, grid connection procedures, and market dynamics
- Experience with project finance and financing processes is considered a strong advantage
- Strong analytical, commercial, and financial modelling skills
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and negotiation skills
- Established network within the Ukrainian renewable energy sector
- Fluent in English
- Ukrainian language skills are highly beneficial
