Help us build security into the way Zaptec grows.

We combine the latest tech with human-centered design to offer highly intuitive and efficient EV chargers that ensure easier access to personal electric transport.

This gives people the freedom and potential to travel into a more sustainable future. How neat is that?

Within just a few years, we've built our domestic market-leading position by supplying superior charging installations for housing co-ops and private homes alike.

As a Norwegian EV pioneer, our goals are aimed at bringing the best charging technology to the rest of the world. Are you up for this challenge?

What your day would look like

As Zaptec grows, so does the technology behind what we do and the importance of protecting it. We're now looking for a Cyber Security Engineer to join us at our Stavanger HQ and take a hands-on role in strengthening security across Zaptec.

This role is dedicated to strengthening and maturing cybersecurity across Zaptec, giving you the opportunity to make a real impact on how the area continues to develop. You'll help improve how we protect our users, devices, cloud services, identities and network access, while collaborating closely with different departments across the organization.

Some days will be about investigating and solving what's in front of you. Others will be about looking ahead: identifying where we can reduce risk, improving endpoint security, strengthening user awareness, following up on vulnerabilities and introducing better ways of working. In short, you'll help us build security even more deeply into how Zaptec operates, develops and grows.

Your day-to-day might include

  • Strengthen identity and access security across users, roles, access policies and privileged accounts.
  • Improve endpoint security and device posture across laptops, mobile devices and other managed endpoints.
  • Secure network access through modern access controls, secure connectivity and web protection.
  • Detect, investigate and respond to security events in collaboration with our SOC and relevant internal teams.
  • Identify and reduce vulnerabilities across identities, endpoints, cloud services, SaaS platforms and internal systems.
  • Improve secure configurations and baselines for devices, cloud environments and access policies.
  • Support secure use of cloud services, collaboration platforms and business-critical systems.
  • Contribute to secure-by-design practices together with engineering, Data & AI and other teams.
  • Strengthen user awareness and security culture around phishing, credential theft, data handling and secure use of tools.
  • Continuously improve our security tooling, processes and ways of working as Zaptec grows.

Is this you?

You like cybersecurity best when you can actually do something about it. You enjoy getting close to the technology, understanding where the risks are and finding practical ways to make things more secure.

You're curious by nature and comfortable moving between different challenges. You don't need to have all the answers from the start, but you know how to investigate, ask the right questions and turn what you find into action.

And because security at Zaptec touches many different teams, you enjoy working with people just as much as systems. You can challenge when needed, explain the why behind security decisions and find solutions that work in practice.

Some personal skills we value

  • You're curious and proactive, and don't wait for someone else to point out what could be improved.
  • You're practical and solution-oriented, with a good sense of how to balance security, usability and business needs.
  • You're structured and comfortable taking ownership, while knowing when collaboration will get you to a better solution.
  • You communicate clearly and can make complex security topics understandable to different audiences.

As for the skills required for this job

We're looking for someone with solid hands-on experience from cybersecurity, security engineering or a similar technical role. You don't need to know every technology we use, but you should be comfortable working across different areas of security and turning risks into practical improvements.

We believe you'll thrive in this role if you:

  • Have hands-on experience implementing and improving technical security controls across areas such as endpoints, identity, cloud or network security.
  • Have experience identifying, investigating and reducing technical security risks and vulnerabilities.
  • Have worked with security monitoring and incident response, either directly or alongside SOC and technical teams.
  • Are comfortable working with engineers and other technical teams to build security into systems and ways of working.
  • Communicate professionally in English, both written and spoken.

Experience with areas such as SIEM/XDR, EDR, zero trust, secure development, scripting or established security frameworks is a plus, but we don't expect you to tick every box.

Join in! ☕️ Yes, we do spend a lot of time in front of our desks, but we also love coffee, conversations, nerdy talks, lunches and jokes.
