Job description

Do you want to build production AI systems that change how the world's largest dedicated fund manager within greenfield renewable energy deploys capital? If so, CIP Fund Solutions (CIP FS) is looking for a Forward Deployed Engineer to join our Digital & AI team in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Team

As Forward Deployed Engineer, you will join the Digital & AI team in CIP Fund Solutions, reporting to the Investment Lifecycle Lead. You will be part of a new delivery unit, developing and rolling out digital and AI solutions that bring efficiency to CIP's investment teams, and you will set the unit's technical direction.

Role

As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you work alongside the investment teams who use your systems, learn the documents and decisions they handle, and turn that knowledge into production software.

You will design, build and run the AI systems that support CIP's investment lifecycle, working with data rooms, contracts, financial models and investment committee materials, and you will set the engineering standards that let CIP scale AI across teams.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities will consist of, but are not limited to:

  • Design, build and run production AI systems for the investment lifecycle, owning integrations, reliability and monitoring.
  • Build retrieval, document-processing and agent-based workflows over data rooms, contracts, due diligence reports and financial models.
  • Define and run evaluations that test accuracy and reliability against CIP-specific benchmarks.
  • Build in access control, data segregation between funds and audit trails from day one.
  • Integrate with CIP's Microsoft 365 and data platforms, working with IT and Security to run solutions as supported services.
  • Set engineering standards and reusable components and help build the engineering team as the unit grows.

You

You hold a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field, and bring 5-8 years of software engineering experience, including at least two years building LLM-powered systems in production. You write production code in Python plus TypeScript or C#, and have hands-on experience with retrieval-augmented generation, tool use and agents, structured extraction and model evaluation.

You also bring cloud engineering experience on Azure or a comparable platform, and a solid grasp of security and data governance in sensitive data environments.

Experience in financial services, energy or another regulated industry is a strong advantage.

We look for the following in a candidate

  • Ability to explain technical trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Enjoy working face-to-face with users and turning their feedback into working software.
  • Calm and decisive when delivery is urgent and requirements are unclear.
  • High standards and ownership, from prototype through to production.
  • Excellent written and verbal English. Danish is not a requirement.

The process

Please apply online as soon as possible as applications will be processed on an ongoing basis. For questions related to the role, please reach out to our Talent Acquisition team at [email protected]. We do not include CV's and Cover Letters sent by email.
