Job description
As our Working Student - As-Built Update, DT+SB OSS, you will help review, organise and consolidate the as-built documentation for the DanTysk and Sandbank offshore substations. By making technical information easier to find and ensuring that the correct document revisions are available, you will support the safe and reliable operation of critical offshore wind infrastructure.
At Vattenfall, we believe there is a way to build a more sustainable energy future. In this role, your careful work will help our engineers and technical specialists make well-informed decisions every day.
About Business Area Wind
We develop, construct and operate wind farms, both onshore and offshore, to accelerate the growth of renewable energy. We combine international expertise with innovation to deliver world-class projects. In this way, we contribute every day to the transition towards a more sustainable energy system.
Your main responsibilities
Different phases in the history of the DanTysk and Sandbank assets have resulted in technical documentation being stored across several digital and physical locations. Your goal will be to help create a structured and dependable joint archive in which colleagues can locate the correct documentation efficiently.
You will receive guidance and technical support from experienced Service Engineers and work with colleagues across offshore operations, engineering, regional support and document management.
Your main activities will include
- Reviewing and comparing as-built and project documentation held in OneDrive, LiveLink, SharePoint, external hard drives, DVDs and USB storage devices
- Identifying duplicate, superseded or corrupted files and supporting the clarification of document status
- Sorting and consolidating the available documentation into a structured joint archive
- Aligning the archive with the existing shipyard documentation structure
- Adding RDSPP coding or document tags in accordance with agreed requirements
- Handling technical documentation carefully and maintaining consistent quality throughout repetitive review activities
- Consulting Service Engineers and relevant technical specialists when document content or classification requires clarification
- Helping improve the accessibility and reliability of documentation used for operating and maintaining the offshore substations
Success in this role means that engineers and supporting functions can find the right information more quickly and have greater confidence that they are working with the correct revision.
Qualifications
Your profile
You enjoy bringing order to complex information and understand that careful documentation work can make a real difference to engineering and operational decisions. You work in a structured way, remain attentive when handling large volumes of information and communicate openly when something needs clarification.
We are looking for someone who:
- Is currently studying Electrical Engineering, Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Renewable Energy or a comparable technical subject
- Fluent English communication skills, both written and spoken. German or Danish language skills are an advantage.
- Has advanced general IT skills and feels confident using Microsoft Office applications
- Has basic knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint or is enthusiastic about developing this knowledge
- Works carefully and systematically when comparing, naming, classifying and storing documents
- Can maintain a consistently high level of accuracy during detailed and repetitive activities
- Enjoys working together with engineers, technical specialists and document management colleagues
- Is comfortable asking questions and following agreed documentation and coding standards
Previous experience with document management, technical drawings or engineering documentation would be helpful, but it is not essential.
What we offer
This position gives you a practical introduction to offshore wind operations and technical document management while you continue your studies.
You can expect:
- Hands-on experience with technical documentation from two operational offshore high-voltage substations
- Insight into the operation and maintenance of offshore renewable-energy infrastructure
- Guidance from experienced Service Engineers and technical specialists
- Opportunities to develop your knowledge of document management, SharePoint and engineering-document structures
- Collaboration with colleagues across offshore operations, engineering, regional support and document management
